Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

It's all well and good for Royal Real of Madrid to scratch a 3-3 draw (via two deflections and a rare worldy), under the sun shading stadium roof in front of 80,000 baying fans in Spain but can they do it on a Wednesday night on an uncovered field in rain drenched Manchester with a gale blowing...

I don't think so...

One thing that TNT said correctly is that this match is becoming the Classico of our time.
Glad that the thick knee jerk moaners that spilled over to here from the match day thread have disappeared back to shouting at their Xbox football images.
We went again into the coliseum and came out with them left fearing that their chance has gone we will finish the job next week.

They were complaining that the ref blew the final whistle (correctly, I might add, on +4 mins exactly), despite the fact they had a throw in quite near our corner flag! That's how desperate they became!

He also did the same thing in the first half....blew for half time when they were 'sort of' on the attack.

It's called straw clutching ;)

I just love the idea that REAL FUKIN MADRID think UEFA officiating is biased TOWARDS US

It seems surreal sometimes watching City.

Last night, even when losing I felt like we could pull it back.

We are the biggest club in Europe now. It's a compliment that Real tried to use every advantage they had to try and beat us right down to closing the roof.

For once UEFA get credit for designating a young ref who took no shit for it. That lad will go far if he's allowed to develop like that.

They'll come to ours and play for penalties. They had their chance last night and the reaction of Bellingham at full time at the refs showed they've blown it.

I can't see us spanking them again. But we'll win.

Just a little reminder of the last time we took a first leg draw at the Bernabeu back to the Etihad.

Just watched that again for the umpteenth time. Fodens pass to Alvarez fot the fourth goal was perfect, weight and accuracy. Not quite up there with David Silvas at the swamp but not far behind.

The crowd can play a huge part next week. I think a couple of Madrid players said it was intimidating last season. It needs to be intimidating again. Some of the best atmospheres we have had at the stadium have been CL QF’s and Semi finals. I’m sure it will be the 12th man.
