The tie wasn’t lost when we conceded from the first ball over the top; it was lost in Pep’s presser when he said we had a 1% chance of going through. Would that have changed the result? Not likely, but that sort of defeatist attitude can’t do anyone any good, surely. He needs to have as long hard a look in the mirror as some of the players do.
 
Utter shit as I'd feared, but realistically this team wasn't winning the UCL, so being put out of our misery isn't the worst thing.

Just get through the rest of the league and dont shit yourselves, maybe the FA Cup can happen.

The problems we've had this year are still there. Just fix it in the offseason.

Yeah Pep deciding to play a weird system and not change it even when we were getting battered was also expected, really helped us again.

Hate seeing us lose and I am sick of the early stupid goals conceded.

Far too many one sided games this season.

Anyway, it’s ok to admit we are not good enough this season. Which I am ok with but we give away games so easily it seems and the game is over long before 90min.

Couldn’t be arsed calling anyone out.

Hopefully we finish strongly in the league. It is no surprise that we are not good enough but I’m sure we all know that.

I compare it to them at our place in 2023 when they sat back and accepted defeat lay on their backs. At least we didn’t do that.
 
You dont mind getting whipped when the players put a shift in but that was one of the worst performances from a desire aspect i have seen as a city fan. Players need to hang their heads in shame. If you cant get up for Real Madrid away then you dont belong in the top tier of football.
 
Pathetic from Pep. Have no issue going out to Madrid but I have a big issue with pep once again sending a team out to fail with diabolical tactics. We couldn't have played into their hands any more than that. Felt like the pelegrini semi final where we went out without even giving it a go. Only silver lining is we don't get charged £42.50 for another game and with Madrid still in it, that's one further obstacle for the dippers and Arsenal.
 
This is an aging squad, even with some on the bench. Age in itself isn’t necessarily an issue but we have lost all our hunger. For me that’s the huge difference between this and other seasons and explains the absolute lapses in focus that have led to mistakes game after game after game.
 
Pep needs a long look into the mirror. Ancelotti did him dirty tonight. we were slow, weak in duels, zero shots until about 75th min, poor in midfield, going forward, defence etc.

Real Madrid will have more sweat when they host likes of Las Palmas, Valladolid and other cannon fodders in La Liga...

first time ever Pep didnt reach last 16 of CL in his career. :(

also first time City did not reach last 16 of CL since Mancini's group stage failure in 2012-2013. :((
