Those of you saying Madrid are great don't watch much La Liga. No way they're winning anything.

They're cockroaches and have a horrible habit of overcoming poor seasons in the Champions League.
Not saying they will definitely win, it's a tough draw but it wouldn't surprise me.

Pep deserves to put this right and as enough credit in the bank to do that, however he also as to be accountable for some of the woeful choices of players he keeps picking and keep playing a high line defence when they are crippled constantly.

I trust him to get this team back to something that resembles the team of a couple of seasons back.

That's his Achilles heel. He will not veer away from his tactics and has no plan B. Any other coach would not keep on playing a high line with players that can't do it. The problem is the players are so schooled to play this way they probably couldn't adapt anyway. We have the players with pace upfront to sit deep and play on the counter but he stubbornly refuses to do it.

Not seen Peps interview…..but if that’s what he said……We haven’t controlled any games against a good team this season and Silva and Gundogan certainly cannot compete physically so we were always onto a loser!

Men against boys tonight….the opposite to two years ago.

The defence got very little support from the midfield tonight….who were not good enough to be able to gain any kind of foothold.

Would have been better playing Doku with Savio and Marmoush up front and just gone for it or packed the midfield with just Marmoush up front.

Khushanov was one of the few to come out with any credit.

it does beg the question as to why we have dropped so far. It can't be one man (Rodri), can it? I think it’s just the game has changed. Teams have gotten more pacey. Counter attack is more effectively. This and our plodding offense. Teams just sit back and say, "oh this again? Nah, we're fit. We can handle 65/35 possession. Meantime, you can't run and we'll counter you to death".

I agree, it’s mental that he doesn’t give Nunes more minutes in the middle, absolutely pointless playing Gundo and Bernie, even if Nunes is not good enough he may as well get played.

If ever a player knows he needs to move on, he may as well.

We literally could shift Kev, Bernie, Gundo, Nunes and Kovacic this summer. Crazy.

There's a good shout for all of those 5 players to be replaced come summer for me.

I disagree , Txiki is leaving , Pep wants to stay and build a new team. The club seem extremely confident we will win the 115 debacle.
Badly run clubs don’t win 4 in a row , win trebles.
And all of the new signings look extremely promising, get a few more in in key positions and we are good to go.
It was inevitable there would be a drop off , and that’s the fact of the matter.
Maybe Pep was in two minds with his personal problems , his best mate in football is retiring.
All the club has done wrong is maybe not make signings in the summer, if we had of done , and we still had an average season with bedding in new players , some on here would still have plopped their pants.
2/3 quality signings in the summer and we will have stolen a March on our competitors.
Liverpool need to sign a good 3/4 players , Arsenal are Arsenal and can’t hide anymore.
We will be fine , trust the club and manager.

I know this is the only thing that frustrates the life out of me with pep, he will not adjust and just sticks to his values, suppose that theory has won him shit loads of trophies. I am confused with the situation with his contract though, for me it will take a couple of really good transfer windows to sort this team out now and he may not be around to do it.

I reckon you can keep two of them, but no more than two, and you need to bring two top players + a good prospect in to replace them.
