Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Disagree. Yes we need new signings, but we need a bigger squad. Some of those players will need to stay to allow rotation. Mordric still playing at Madrid.
You do realise we can't have a bigger squad than we have now, in fact for C/L next season as it stands we need to lose 2, plus lose Walker and Phillips.

Put this season behind us Ageing players ,injuries havent helped.
Lets use remaining months to get new players bedded in players properly reco ered.
There will be transfers in and out.
We will be stronger by August and move up.
Nobody could hold there hand up after 6 out of 7 titles and say we would go on forever.
It had to come to a end but next season will be very different.
COC
Heads up could be the 90s

We are so far off the level in everything when we play the bigger sides. We don’t really lay a glove on them.

I can’t escape the feeling that Pep and the players accepted before the game started yesterday. Our mentality is so fragile.

The positives for me is that I don’t have to watch this iteration of City as much for the rest of the season and the team get extended rest between games now. We would never have coped with a game every 3 days. T4 charge now.

We were poor admittedly but BBC McNulty tearing us a new one…..never get this sort of poisonous reporting about rags demise…….****
Not just the BBC tearing us a new one, most of the main stream media would be doing the same. Their narrative would be City were outclassed by Real Madrid, men against boys, end of an era, embarrassing. All of which are pretty truthful at the moment. But if it was the Rags, Dippers or Tarquins in the same situation it their narrative would be unlucky, brave, learning curve, unfortunate injury ridden team gave Real Madrid a run for their money. Which would be fucking huge lies but the main stream media are too shit scared to criticise those clubs they have their noses well and truly up their collective arses.

Let them keep spreading their insinuations, bias and downright lies for now. Let's keep our powder dry and if and when the IC's findings and verdict fall in our favour then hopefully swift and hellish retribution will be served upon those hacks and their paymasters. You can kick a dog for so long before it turns on you and fights back. This dog will have bigger fucking teeth than those hacks and will inflict savage damage upon them.

What a load of bollocks..Dias is a great player but I agree on not fast though
Gvardiol is a central defender not a full back where he gets put
Gonzalez unfit..fuck me you must be joking

You agree on dias.
Gvardiol can't defend in the position he is played.
And you watched last night's game and thought gonzalez was up to speed?

Bellingham, Tchoumendi, Camavinga and Mbappe. That’s one way of replacing aging players.
All done with huge debts and unlimited spending. The PL is happy to prevent its clubs from competing with the elite clubs in Spain. Real Madrid will always get a free pass and the grovelling English media love blowing smoke up their arse especially Rio and McManaman.

As in being in it longer than any other premier team being favourite for the competition and winning it plus going far in it!

If you look at the stats of who has been the best club in Europe we will be in the top five! Which club has won it twice in the last 10 years? Yep Madrid
I wouldn't class that as domination. You obviously disagree. So be it. I'm not going to argue all day about it. You won't change my mind, and I won't change yours.

There are some positives for sure. Every one of the new signings has shown in a short space of time that they can improve us.

I hate to say it but my main worry going into next season might be Pep. Playing Gundogan and Bernardo together is madness.

You agree on dias.

I think watching last night half the team aren’t up to speed not the CDM trying to do an impossible task… we didn’t exactly play in a manner to show his strengths. Same things were said about Rodri for the first season

I'm not into the doom and gloom, we were never going to win this tie despite our efforts, this season is shot, with ageing players, knackered players, rebuild going on. RM just got more and more confident last night and our players shrank into obscurity. Wasnt nice to watch.

The future looks very good though. Gonzalez, Khusanov, and marmoush look like the spine of a very good team next year. And I hope this year's performances, last nights result, give fire in the belly for pep and the players to come back stronger next season.

This season is a serious wake up call. Its effectively over imo...top 4 is a certain guarantee, I don't care that much about how we perform in the FA Cup or even the CWC.

The warning signs have been there since after the Treble. Complacency set in, and we barely scrapped through to win the Prem last season.
Now, things have capitulated in front of our very eyes.

At the end of the day though, it's how football and life works in general. All great empires fall after a point. New and better ones are built. Rinse and repeat. Same for the club.

Old Guard are clearly tired, they don't have the passion to do this anymore. They've won the lot already, it's time to let them go. You could see it from last night's shitshow. The newer young lads have the hunger and desire to get the job done. Tactically, Pep's game is outdated. Its 2025, were no longer in 2011. Football has evolved, tactically.

Best point of action this summer is to have the total clearout. Get the Old Guard going. Build statues for them name stands after them, whatever, thank them for their service and then ship 'em all to Saudi Arabia or USA. Get the Younger lads transfered in, integrate some of the academy boys and that's it.

This season is effectively over, now every match from this Sunday till May feels just like a pre season tournament. Top 4, FA Cup, CWC sounds like a bootleg treble, but that's all there is to it. Good news is that we have a very long "pre season" to brace ourselves for next season.

Can someone tell me whats the point in pep 'rebuilding', if he isnt going to be here in 2 years? You dont employ a builder to build a house knowing he wont be finishing it!!

Gundo with Bernie is a disaster. No legs there and that was unfair on Nico. Midfield should have been Kova, Nico, and Foden.
Bernardo has been a major disappointment for the last two seasons now, fuck all is coming from him, has to go in the summer. Gundo is gone as well, I thought it was a masterstroke when he came back but he simply can't hack this league anymore, too old and too slow. What Pep was thinking playing them both last night heaven only knows
