Great result.
More fraught than it would have been if we were still set up to keep the ball. But we just have to accept that‘s the direction we‘ve gone. The subs certainly weren‘t designed to take the sting out of the game.
Tactics felt more complicated than necessary. There‘s not another player in world football who gets asked to do anything like the work Bernardo does. Leading the press in the middle, chasing down Courtois, playing out on the right wing, and having to try to get back in alongside Nico. Crazy.
But: just need to keep cranking out the results at the moment.

Great performance and result. We didn’t even beat these away when we were very much the best side in the world.

Pep’s subs to see out games are shite though, same as away at Arsenal. Gave up all the control we had until that point.
Er, February 2020?

That’s a big win and makes up for the Leverkusen defeat. Should get top 8 now

Comfortable enough overall after a shaky start

O’Reilly grew into the game
I enjoyed our defending in the second half, old school blocks clearances and headers

We could have scored more on the break with a bit more composure

The setup of this competition means that you can’t get carried away with a win like this, ultimately it could mean nothing and they could still beat us when it matters

It’s good to see this team grow together though

Anyone else find it funny when it gets to the stage of the game where Bernardo just wants to go round and kick players

Thought we contrived to make them look good for the first half hour, but after we scored the whole game flipped and we bossed it.

Thought everyone played really well in the end (except Foden, sorry).

Great win!
