Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

What a victory. That ref has properly rattled me with that fucking lamentable performance. The epitome of a shithouse coward homer of a ref.

But what a performance from our lads. The full backs were unreal. Leadership all over the pitch. Doku and Gonzalez going up levels this season has been much needed. Buzzing.

Thought Doku was incredible, felt sorry for him that Pep didn’t get him off sooner, he was absolutely fucked.

Both Nico’s were great, Cherki was fantastic.

In the second half Bernie’s running got him in to the game.

Gvardiol was awesome in the second half, an absolute rock at the end.

Nunes put in a great shift in difficult circumstances.

And last but by no means least, Savio did a good cameo, he HAS to play on the right when he comes on.

Great result.

God help Pep getting the lads rested and ready for Sunday.
Thought Doku’s decision making was shocking mate. That is the worst Madrid team I’ve seen in years. No one is standing out this year, maybe Arsenal are favourites at the moment but let’s see how the season plays out.

Brilliant result, up the Blues, a win at the Bernabeu is always a phenomenal result. Bottom line.

Oreilly massive, Nico brilliant, Doku a torment, Nunes also very good. The centre halves were good after they settled. Unsure Haaland had his best day

First half an hour was defined by how badly City used their aggression, it seemed willing but totally misplaced and mistimed.

Importantly, we got caught in possession facing our own goal FIVE times in the first half, and none in the second. That was a big change, moving it better, cutting out the dither. You should never ever dither against Madrid.

Final point: I am a little uncomfortable about the drop off from first XI to subs now, it seems the most prominent in recent seasons. Hopefully a few more squad players can step up.
