Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

That referee was an absolute disgrace. Every single 50 50 went their way and he even needed to be told by VAR to give an obvious penalty. That Valverde tackle that didn’t even get a yellow and then Rudiger not getting sent off. Good job we won!

DOKU must have been shagging his Mrs
He was kicked and fouled that many times tonight. I thought they should have brought him off on the stretcher when we subbed him

Great game, it wasnt techincally brilliant and we werent creative enough at all. And I tink RM were relatively poor. Nonetheless for players like ORielly and Cherki to step up and perform, and for the team to stay solid despite going down and playing against the ref at times, at their ground.. I was quite please.

Orielly Motm

Savinho was poor too - Not piling into him, but he had space there at the end, they were stretched and he wasted a couple of good chances, even though he probably created them.

An excellent win despite being nowhere near our best.

Very professional 2nd half performance to see it out.

Up against 12 tonight. This referee is better than that performance he put out there tonight.

Up to 4th!
What did the Referee do wrong?

Rudiger second yellow maybe but what else, he could have ignored our penalty and looked at 2 incidents in our first goal.

Why first 20 pages in post match just talking TNT? We have a lot positives that’s really on the pitch. Savinho did well for the task he was given- keep ball in control and make them run back.
The coverage was terrible mate. It’s an English channel covering an English team. We aren’t given an equal billing to the others. You can hear how pissed off they were when we won. Joke

TNT hate us with a passion! That coverage tonight was an absolute disgrace! It’s gone on for years now since the bt days. They constantly cheer for the foreign team when we play shocking coverage of an English side from an English Channel
Then mute it and stick the radio on!

Great Win in the end after poor start.

NOR deserved MoM and it will have also significantly boosted his World Cup goal

Be great to see him playing for England in
the Summer.

Whilst I acknowledge we didn't play Madrid at their best or their strongest given some of their injuries, in the second half especially that was a mature away European performance by the blues (or dark greens, to be precise). Defensively resilient, O'Reilly and Nunes superb, and Cherki put in a shift that I hope becomes the norm. Doku looked shattered on 70mins but he was running them ragged.

Makes up for the shambles against Leverkusen, and hopefully Tebas goes to bed tonight absolutely fuming.
