Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Tnt commentary keep saying we've not gave Haaland a single chance.
First half Doku put several decent crosses in for both Haaland and Semenyo to go invisible.
Reijnders would struggle to start in any other premier league team.
Nico Oreilly was lost at right back and his manager didn't help him out.
We can win the return leg but not without them scoring.
Look at the money us fans are saving getting knocked out in the last 16.CTID

Lol crosses were nowhere near him lol.

What even are we anymore??

A pep team without any identity, I never thought I’d say it.

We don’t press
We don’t keep the ball
We domt counter attack at pace

We have become almost a parody of ourselves.

There’s no fluency, most areas of the team don't compliment each other, we have technicians passing to speed boats, speed boats relying on snails for support, and weak followers lacking leaders.

A manger that’s thrashing around trying to find solutions to problems created by poor signings, and in the process making things worse.

A fan base, that is split between early adopters to the new norm, and those that are intent on still wanting to cite mitigating circumstance to excuse players who simply aren’t good enough to get back what we had.

What a killer that was…laid bare all of our issues..
Unable to watch the game, take it we were shit then?

No it isn’t

United
Liverpool

It happens to every team

Only in Germany

To maintain the levels we achieved is impossible
You can’t replace David Silva, Sergio, Ya Ya, Kev with the flick of the cheque book.

Cherki will go part way to fill part of the void, but replacing truly world class players instantly is not achievable

We are not by any means shit
We just aren’t at the level of the last five years
That isn’t shit

Stop being a spoilt arse and face reality
You know, you're right. 100%. But let's not mistake what happened today with our team not being up to the standard we are used to. Pep bottled the lineup tonight. If we do not have the quality that we had in the past, then why make that problem even worse when we field a side that was weaker than what it should have been? You're using past talent loss as a reason for why we lost today. That wasn't it.

All good points mate. It’s not just supporting them. Unlike a lot of the clowns on here I believe in them and I will always believe in Pep. I can see our next great team taking shape before my eyes. This crop aren’t quite at the level yet of the 19-23 teams yet but they will be very soon. We are seeing it in flashes already. I don’t think Madrid are any better, they just got the rub of the green tonight.

Yeah I agree. I think it was a combination of a superior mindset from Real and a few nerves amongst our players. Their penalty comes from Khus trying to play a pass first time following a header out from our corner. Take a touch, calm down and that situation is avoided. A few moments where we were a bit rash and they took their chances.

The penalty save was a lifeline but I think we needed a goal and then momentum would have been with us.

I'm excited for the return leg. Nothing to lose, go and get stuck into them. We have it in us to get back into the game. But it's a valuable lesson for a largely young and inexperienced side at this level.

*Couldn't. Also, you gave two shits enough to reply twice ;)

However, It doesn't make you better to look down on people.
*Meh, I literally think it could go either way at this point given the way this is going. (to shit)

Also I had Greek takeaway an hour ago so it's not going to improve much on that front.... er, rear... ?

Can I just say, Valverde is one hell of a player. I despise Real Madrid but he has always been a player I've admired. Will play anywhere and work his arse off for the team and the technique and skill he showed tonight for his goals were superb. Plus he was back defending whenever he was needed as well. Ultimately the difference between the two teams tonight.

Arrogant pep had more conservative line ups and Respect for Exeter Salford Brentford in cups than that tonight…. Disrespected Madrid in the bernabao DISGRACEFUL… time to go end of season
