Real Madrid (A) - CL R16 Post Match thread

I have to disagree with your suggestion that passing is Rodri's weak point. His passing stats are monumental. He made Prem history against West Ham - 178 successful passes from 188 attempts. In another game, can't remember who it was, I think he had a 100 per cent pass completion - from a high total number.
His passing is his strong point , pace is his weak point

am not saying he is shit at passing ? just that one or two leave you in danger with teams on the press if you fuck up, i think he is world class matey but new to the speed and the power of the english game and needs to build on his fitness levels but that will come with more seasons under his belt

I don’t know what to think of him tbh . One week he is great and an asset to the team and the next week I’m thinking Is he good enough for us but then I think we his season he was big supposed to be a big part and slowly integrated n our team and not thrown in so in that aspect he has done well .

I don't want to be that guy, but had we been on the end of the decisions Madrid were last night I'm sure plenty on here would be saying similar.

Eh? What decisions??? You could have a legitimate debate that the sending off was very soft but the first goal was NOT a push and the penalty was nailed on.

Mendy has his strengths, but so does Zinchenko and one of them is not giving the ball away cheaply.

the thing is Zinchenko has had little game time this season and when he played he was left midfield, so work to be done in the up and coming games to get him back at left back because without laporte we have nothing on the left side of defence and madrid will see that as a weak point and you can bet will flood down the left at every chance they get

Just watched it again, without the accompanying emotion of last night. When you take into account there was no Sterling, Aguero, Fern or Dave on the pitch at kick off, that was some performance. We could (should?) have ended up with 4 or 5 goals.

I still can't believe it's real. If UEFA doesn't step in and disqualify City before the 2nd leg I might start to believe something has changed.
