Shock & Awe tonight, Shock & Awe.

Knock them out of their stride.

Keeping it tight and waiting for the last 20 will give them exactly the comfortable rhythm they want (and probably expect).

It's possible to take it to them but still remain vigilant - don't know why so many on here think that an aggressive start has to mean throwing caution to the wind. It doesn't.

Never take anything for granted against real, they could somehow win the champions league even in a year they haven't even qualified for it.

For me the only big calls are right back, then Foden or De Bruyne. Grealish probably not quite ready and would be handier late on off the bench to control the game, Marmoush the bigger goal threat and that's what we need.

Centre will be Nico and probably Bernardo, Pep trusts Bernie completely and not sure Gundo has the legs defensively, but he did link up well with Marmoush at weekend.

Who have Real got back and who still misses out? Hearing they may rush Rudiger back.

From our point of view it's about staying close, managing the game and not losing our heads if they score or if we don't early on. Then, if we do get them into a position where they're chasing the game, play accordingly and exploit any gaps.

No idea what will happen. We certainly have a chance though, and no shame if we do go out either so we can play with a big of pressure off in one way. All it could take is one slide rule pass, one corner, one free kick, and the whole complexion of the game changes.

Well i can see where you're coming from with that ..... i think we have little chance of a Champions League win this season, judging by our pityful results in Lisbon and Paris, and the chances are that we probably won't get past Real Madrid tonight anyway ..... so i would say that, as a supporter this season, i am of the opinion that 'realistically' a top four PL finish is our priority, with hopefully an FA Cup win to add a bit of silverware.

However i really hope that Pep and the players absolutely give the Champions League their best shot, whilst they are still in it .... it is still THE competiton to win in my eyes, and the one that offers the winning club increased prestige, huge global exposure, and no small amount of prize money either!
Realistic post. We have a good punchers chance of progressing tonight and no more. I know a lot of people get very giddy before games and others explode during games but logic says we are going out. Surprised that 55 per cent appear to think we go through. Top 4 finish and an FA Cup are realistic targets this season methinks.

We have to score first. Crazier things have?) happened, but returning from a two-goal aggregate lead would feel bleak.

I can't see anything other than us going out tonight (maybe that makes me a Liverpool fan). But to stand any chance, I agree; getting the first goal is crucial. And there's no rush getting I. Keep it scoreless for 75 minutes then, to use another club's motto, unleash the dogs of war.

What we don't want to do is panic if we get a goal behind. We have two deadly strikers in Marmoush and Haaland to get us back in the game. Another PSG performance would be awful. If we put the right team out, we can do it!

I wish they'd had this depressing attitude - then they'd have given up after the penalty and we'd have won 2-1 :-)

1 goal in it - a defensive error, bad decision, deflected shot, absolute worldie etc...

Looking forward to this. Nothing really to lose, just go and enjoy the occasion and try and get a result without the pressures that have been on the players' shoulders for the past few years.

Hope we attack.
It's a good point about having nothing to lose. We have to go for it. Should be interesting. Be nice to have a fair referee....

That’s actually a quite upbeat post

for you

Jim I’d expect better from you pal fuck going out be positive mate were winning I really feel this tonight

I can feel this one happening. Pep admitting he lied about the 1% chance boosts my hopes even further. Come on city!

Other half having a hissy fit now - he'd paid 99p for a weeks amazon prime trial so we could watch tonight, but now he's logged in it says you also need a discovery plus payment? Is he right? I know it's on TNT which we don't have, but he kept going on about it being on amazon. Anyone know?!
