Yeah, they may be arseholes but they do know a bit about how to play tricky kicky in Europe. If it was certain other English teams the press would big up the rivalry much more than they do; sad state of affairs when Ancellotti recognises it more than half the journos.
 
I feel like Pep will favour experience in this one and end up with Ake at LCB and Stones alongside Nico with De Bruyne starting too.

I personally think that's the wrong way to go, but maybe they'll respect us enough to let that side get a foothold and we've got enough on the bench to make them suffer late on.

I'd be shifting Khus to RB for Rico and slotting Dias in at LCB next to Stones. I'd play Kovacic for Gundo as he's got a bit more energy and will benefit from Nico being alongside him. I'd save Ake for any injuries/fatigue rather than start all of our best defenders. And I'd save De Bruyne and Gundo for the bench when wise heads can make a difference against tired legs.
 
It's high time we get some luck against them. Every single time we have gone out against these, we were the better team over the 2 legs. When we had won, we won clearly and handsomely.

Call me over optimistic, but I sense an upset! Bring it on Wednesday!!

Ake instead of Gvardiol? No chance. Ake is not fully fit, and even if he were, Gvardiol's quality going forward offsets the advantage Ake offers in defence. Josko's the best LB in the world.

I'm not sure that Pep will start KDB. Agree about Kova, but think Bernie might start instead of Foden. Starting with 4 forwards at the Bernabeu will make the game too open, and they are likely to benefit more from it. Haaland, Savinho and Marmoush are enough, we need 3 proper midfielders behind them. Foden, KDB and Doku might help us in the 2nd half.

Absolutely mate, the amount of sheer luck Real had got while winning '22 and '24 Champions league was mind-boggling. PSG, Chelsea, Us in '22 & Us (again), Bayern in '24. Any of the teams could have knocked them out in those ties. It's crazy!!

Law of averages should come into play but these cunts seem to have some mystic shite going on in this competition which of course is nonsense but it really is bizarre!

Ake at left CB not LB. Pep will definitely be more cautious which probably isn't a bad way to prepare. I want to put these fuckers to the sword. I completely missed Bernie, he'd be my pick next to Nico. Eddie, Gvardiol, Dias, Stones, Khus, Nico, Bernie, Foden, Marmoush, Savinho, Haaland would be my 11 but I can see Pep going a lot more conservative in line with what you say.

The games with Real have been ridiculous. For the neutral they've been brilliant. But it's been cruel at times for us. I don't think we've deserved to lose the tie on any occasion. We bossed them last season but ran out of steam. We bossed them before capitulating late on a few years ago. They battered us and wouldn't have deserved to lose last week, but typically they managed to get the win.

If the footballing gods are involved, as they should be, we'll get battered on Wednesday but cling on before equalising in the 89th minute and winning it with the last kick of the game in ET.
