No pressure on us. Already 3-2 down, at Madrid, no one expecting us to win.

First goal critical. If we score it, squeaky bum time for Madrid. They score it and it’s curtains with Liverpool on the weekend!

I just watched the game against Newcastke again. Apart from Eddie, John and Gundo, everyone was 25 or under, even Doku and Mcatee. Hence the energy we had in this game. The recovery runs were so much quicker, Marmoush really worked hard.
I think against Madrid, if fit, Dias should play instead of Lewis with Stones. Khusanov at right back. Stones moving into midfield when we are in possession. Gundo looked so much better with Nico in midfield, would leave him there, if not then Kovacic. I would leave the front 4 as they were.

It's not as bad as that though,

Going a goal down is easily recoverable with a 2 - 1 win and then ET.

The change to the away goals rule is a huge bonus for us after the first leg

If that was the case and we turn it round would be the first time anyone of these Eufa changes have worked to our advantage.

Ederson
Khusanov-Dias-Ake-Gvardiol
Stones-Nico
Foden-Marmoush-Savinho
Halaand.
Ez win

I wonder whether Pep goes with his experienced and ‘trusted’ players like he often does for big games. That would mean increasing the age and Kev coming in even though his form is really poor. I hope we keep the same front 4 as the newcastle game.
I've been thinking the same thing. Pep might bring Bernie and Kev back for this game, which to me would be a mistake. One of the major benefits of having such a young, mobile team in the Newcastle game was to flood back in defence if we lost the ball. Our older players have really struggled this season to track back effectively.

If Pep gets the team selection right we can inflict some serious damage in this game.

Feel like heads will go down and players will realize it’s a ridiculously hard uphill climb just to get ExtraTime & maybe pens.

Let’s hope we score first, level it up and make a fist of it!
