Real Madrid Boycott Ballon D'Or 2024 Because One of Their Players Didn't Win IT!

He's a prick stating he's not won it due to his stance on Racism, absolutely fuck all to do with that, he probably got votes on the back of it. The main place where he's suffered racism is Spain, what are the Spanish Authorities doing about it?

Btw, I doubt Rodri will think it's "a very silly and arbitrary award". He must be so proud to be crowned the best player in Europe for the past season, that's some achievement.

"Is it cos I is black?" as Ali G used to say...

Well no, it isn't Vinicius. It's because you're a forward player and your totals last season were mediocre when compared to those delivered for years by Messi and the other one. Plus Haaland last year.

That said, he did suffer horrendous racist abuse on a fairly regular basis playing in Spain, and I know his teammates got round to support him. I think the boycott ended up being an extension of that backing - they've been sticking up for him all season whenever he's been upset, so it was 'normal' for them to continue that way.

So I don't think the award decision was anything about racism, but the boycott indirectly will have been.

I wonder if the organiser / UEFA has the balls to say that no Madrid players will be considered for three years for any short list across all categories. Staggeringly arrogant response as if to say we are bigger than football. Can you imagine a Spanish club saying aren't turning up to play Madrid because they won't win so there is no point travelling. The whole world should be calling them out on this.
The Balon d’Or has nothing to do with UEFA. It’s awarded by France Football Magazine.

Carvajal was the 1st person to congratulate Rodri. He won the euros, champions league, la liga. He is their best player. The rest of them are a bunch of overrated cunts that are responsible for the word racism not meaning anything anymore. Classless, as expected.

One would imagine that any none City player winner would have been congratulated today by Pep

Maybe. Madrid's meltdown did begin way before the ceremony even started.
Can't find it now but I saw a quote from one of the organisers last night. He said Madrid approached him in the morning seeking confirmation that their man had won and his silence told them all they needed to know.

What did he say about them being fannies for not showing up? I only saw that he had took the piss out of their recent result against them.

Tbh I don't think there is much between the sets of management at both RM or Barca.

Too much entitlement runs currently through both clubs, and there isn't enough genuine or long term competition to challenge their positions.

Their management remind me exactly like that of the cartel clubs here in the PL, with the exception that there is far more genuine competition here.
