according to gazzetta dello sport website, berlusconi to make the announcement tomorrow night

berlusconi's just an idiot, could have had £100m , ended up with £56m. tosser

Just consider it £100,000,000 saved on our part. It will be interesting to see how much of the expected £56,000,000 Real Madrid pay AC Milan Berlusconi allows the new manager to spend in transfer funds on what is commonly accepted as a team of aging superstars. Pato must be considering his future as this is a clear statement of the direction of the Italian giants!

I know a lot of us wanted Kaká to come to Manchester City but at the end I believe in fate and if it is meant to be then eventually he will end up at this club. A prestigious club for a special talent in my opinion. Good luck Kaká.

pritty glad we didnt get him to be honest.wouldnt cut it over here and only has a few good years left in him.there a new talents on the rise in brazil now that will take his place.

Sorry Dave but I disagree entirely. Kaká is an exceptional talent that would walk into any team in the world right now. He is one of the best in the world and he can turn a game on its head in an instant which is why he commands such a high transfer fee, breaking the world transfer fee record in fact and his talent allows that to be deemed acceptable somewhat. He is a talent worthy of breaking the world transfer fee, previously owned by Zinadine Zidane (£46,000,000)

He is 26 or 27 years of age so to say that he only has a few good years left in him is absolutely laughable. It's just beyond logic that his age has an impact on anything. He does not need pace, he has cleverness and an exceptional vision.

Thankfully though we've created our own Kaká in Stevie Ireland but a lesser extent. He is the heart of Manchester City and he is what makes us tick. I'm gutted that we didn't get Kaká, even at £100,000,000 but good luck to him in the famous shirt of Real Madrid. Congratulations on this transfer.

agreed...100mil way to much of a gamble.

Why is it a gamble Ali? If you cannot gamble on a talent the calibre of Kaká then you cannot gamble on any player. The fee is insignificant as we make £200,000,000 per day (the owners) and is pocket change to them. If it raised the profile of the club then they would have been all for it and so would I.

HHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMM I'm sure someone one on here said he would sign for us..
To be fair, it was looking nearly certain, and then milan bowed to the pressure from the fans at the last minute.
If I am not mistaken Ajay said he would come in this window and we would hijack the madrid deal

i can see your point mate but i still think we could get two world class players for that amount and still raise our profile and i dont think we are not quite ready for kaka just yet.

Looking on the bright side then, i think we're probably a bit early in our development as a team to support both Kaka and Robinho. Obviously any team in the World would want those two, but they really need a solid platform behind them to allow them to perform consistantly and influence the game as much as they can, i don't think we can provide that yet.

There will be a time in the not too distant future when we can focus on signings like Kaka, when we already have the basis of a team that can challenge for trophies, but right now i think we'd have an imbalanced team.
