What was Bernado supposed to do, just let it go in?

Maybe throw his body behind it rather than flick an elbow out.

The fact he initially had his arms behind his back means he knows he can't use them and players do that when they're going to block with their body. So doing that and then flicking out the elbow is pure stupidity.

Some giving praise for the performance with 10 men. Why do we always seem to have some sort of blow up in this competition is the question we should be asking.

The tie over the two legs was a disgrace and a what not to do in the champions league.
The performance tonight was far from a disgrace.

Didn't deserve to lose that, showed a lot of fight

Khusanov, Ait Nouri, Rodri, Cherki and Doku all deserve a lot of credit, not much to say about the rest

Hopefully all 5 of those start on Sunday as we need fighters at the moment, and im struggling to see much of it elsewhere on the pitch

Class told in the end, and they've players that will punish you which again is somewhere we always seem to come up short
Pep will drop them all for Sunday.

Frustrating and difficult to not go off on a couple of players but we've been here before in the champions league. We are at that stage of the season which can only happen when you're semi successful but the devastating defeats happen all within a few weeks.

I think it'll be difficult for the players to get their heads back on ahead of the cup final. Hopefully they'll take this pain and push themselves to a quad next year.

Seems like the squad is in a weird place where it's neither super technical but not clinical enough to be a moments team. I feel like we need to commit to a style. Would have preferred Foden and Cherki to start instead of Tiji but we are almost in a moment where teams play really well against us defensively - opposition rarely make mistakes and loose balls don't quite fall our way.

Some things to enjoy about the attacking intent both before and after the sending off. I felt we got a bit easier to defend against when Haaland went off despite scoring two offside goals. I enjoyed Khusanovs performance and Doku was decent. Interesting to see (because I've been complaining about it forever) that players were running towards him when he beat his fullbacks rather than expecting him to hit the far post.

Even before the dismissal, we had leaked gilt-edged chances.
Bottom line is that we create plenty ourselves but just don’t finish enough, and that’s been the same for three seasons running.

We’re miles off the standards we were sadly … this lot haven’t got the minerals.
The coach hasn’t got the minerals. Every day and twice on Sundays do we batter this lot if the coach picks the inform players. Instead he picks the underperforming ones and then the newer players get all the stick. Fair enough Semenyo and Guehi were crap in the first leg but the set up was awful no thanks to Dias, Silva, NOR and Savio.

Then in the 2nd leg he picks Dias & Silva because of experience and both ended up costing us.
