Real Madrid (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

BTW that still is the closest I could get and it's BEFORE he kicked it. When he makes contact the guy is at least 3 yards off. To say he isn't interfering when you have two players either side is shocking. Vini is also offside when the ball is actually played.

we dont need to sell or buy anyone at the back IMO. Ake and Stones move on and we have 4 great options. Dias probably going to be more of the playing in the dirty games away from home where we’ll be under heavy artillery - hes still good at that. Ait Nouri is first choice left back for me. Nunes looking tbh fine as a right back and crucially NEVER GETS FUCKING INJURED. which is nice

maybe we need another right back to replace Lewis but even if we dont sign anyone we still have centre backs who can play full back and Reilly to fill in as well.

get rid of all the dross - Stones, Ake, Kovacic, Phillips, Bernardo, Lewis, Savinho and give Foden a giant boot up the arse.
Dross is a poor choice of words. Some of the players that will probably leave have been brilliant for this club.

Not good enough this year, the fluidity this team has had over the years just isn't there. Changes are needed at the end of the season.

Valverde scores that chance he had in the first couple of minutes 99 times out of a 100, and everything else would have been irrelevant.

We huffed and puffed a bit, but we don’t look like a well drilled team, either going forward or at the back.

No complaints about the red card - it was a lazy handball. The only major positive was Khusanov; he was absolutely outstanding and should have played far more regularly than he has this season.

Ultimately, it was a very similar outcome to when we played them last season and I don’t see any material improvement over the period.

The selection, tactics and cohesion of the team are all still up in the air, and we look like a side in need of change and reinvention.
Yeah for all the "held our head high" comments, they've knocked us out of the tournament pretty early on for three seasons running now. Pretty comfortably. Not kicked on at all.

Proud of the lads after that. Better team even one down, or was that two? Pep did the right thing by taking off Haaland and Rodri to rest ahead of Sunday. It was lost in Madrid unfortunately, if we'd played that starting eleven over there then who knows.

Understand the Bernardo red, kind of a natural instinct and if he'd only dipped his head or shoulder to the ball he may have gotten away with it. Looked off to me though, am sure if they use the next frame when the ball has definitely left his foot, then he's off. What I don't understand is why var was completely uninterested when Cherki was fouled in the box, seen the replay and seems a clear one to me. That could have been a game changer.

Maybe it was the atmosphere but Dick Turpin seemed happy to let Madrid waste time all game, and couldn't wait to book Pep for what seemed very little.

Vini Jr remains an odious, horrible sh1t. Could have scored when one on one with Donnarumma but instead tried to get him sent off by running deliberately into him, then laughed about it.
Odious is the perfect adjective

I can’t think of a more odious player on the planet, horrible person on the pitch & with his not turning up to the Ballon d’Or, I suspect he’s exactly the same off the pitch too

Need changes in the back room staff. Our set pieces are 20 years behind other top clubs.
I've commented on this in other threads recently. It's shocking how bad they are, and shameful how long it's gone unaddressed.

Careful, you'll upset a few on here with that statement. According to some we've made progress getting hammered 5-1 over two legs. So so proud
