Real Madrid (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

We will return to the Ch L a stronger and better side. Just a tangent comment. I read that Barca still have a debt that ranges somewhere between 1.8billion Euros and 2.5billion Euros. They still owe 85million Euros for players, but the pundits gormlessly chirp away about the Barca players and the club as though the debt doesn't exist.

Meanwhile, we have a debt free club (other than good debts) - a thriving business - and everyone hates us. We need to shove that hate back down their throats - like we did to UEFA at CAS.

This feels like Pep's first season - next season we will be back.

OTHER COMMITMENTS

In July 2021, the Group completed a $650m term loan, and an additional $270m termloan was completed in June 2024. Barclays, as collateral agent on behalf of the lenders, has a charge over 100% of the Group’s assets. Barclays may enforce the security, aftergiving notice, during a continuing event of default.

Ok, I'm no footy finance expert and you seem to know your accountancy, but isn't some of what you're talking about loans for a refurb of the New York City stadium and expansion of our stadium - normal to pay for this stuff via a loan isn't it? We're profitable year after year aren't we? Good debt.

$140 was loaned by CFG to MCFC for the North Stand build with interest out of that lot more specifically, as well as the overall charge on the groups assets.

It is mortgage type debt rather than credit card, or even worse PFI :)

When you face Real Madrid or the so-called elite clubs its always the same old shit ?
You need to take every chance you get because you know they will get help and the benefit of the doubt from the officials.

This is why Manchester City have to be almost perfect in both legs and we have only done it once in Pep's 10 years at City in the Champions League. This City squad are not the finished article and can not produce the goods every week because it's still in the early stages of a new build, the squad is still top-heavy with players that offer nothing ?

This summer has to be the major clear-out of the likes of Stones Ake Grealish Lewis Kovacic Phillips and also Silva who is leaving anyway

We have the base and foundations and 4 or 5 new faces in the summer and i think we will be ready
nowt to do with refs were just not good enough this season. Good one week shite the next.

That's true, but it also depends on how others play and finish too.

It's (imho) a terrible format now, firstly it makes players play too many games, but the random nature of who plays who (and when), makes it a bit of a lottery all round.
No matter what the format was this season we were never winning it. The boys showed a bit of fight but the quality was just not there.

Proud of the way we fought on Tuesday but, regardless of refereeing decisions, the game was lost in the first leg.

This season we're just nor quite good enough, both domestically and in europe. I think we're still a team in transitionbut the future looks promising.

Hopefully we can bet Arsenal on Sunday and stop them winning all 4.

Interested to know why you've included Kovacic in your sell list.

22 shots on goal mate

Both Madrid keepers made some good stops, our shooting could/should have been better.

One rolled along the line when Earl clould/should have been there.

We were superb last night given the circumstances.

Madrid didnt play in second gear mate
Agree, Madrid got mauled. There's no way anyone can say they were in game management mode.

The officials do play a major part in our games ? Yes City should be taking the officials out of the game by taking our chances, but the little help goes a long way when the so-called elite get help

I never expected us to win it, and we wouldn't have won it under the old format either, I just think there are too many variables now, and too many matches is a significant issue.
