Real we're not great. They defended well, they rode their luck and they benefitted by us not attacking their weaknesses enough. They were good in the first leg.

They defended well and they were playing for penalties or 1 counter attack break. 10 minutes into the second half they had lost all pace on the counter so had to play for penalties. Their defence held out.

I have to say Haaland is really letting us down in the big games. Doing absolutely nothing. You don’t sign and pay all that money for someone to simply occupy the opposition defence and make space for others. At times last season he was unplayable but most teams seem to have worked him out now and he is being completely nullified.

Yeah, he was abysmal, but what irritates me is that once we take him off then it’s like in that extra time he’d have probably made the difference, Alvarez was anonymous.

Bernie has form for just hitting it straight down the middle. It’s a fair assumption that is exactly why the keeper just stayed on his feet. There is one thing wrong with Bernie’s pen and that’s doing it multiple times. If he had variations to the pens he had taken previously, it’s far more likely that the keeper dives out of the way. He had obviously done his homework.
