They defended well and they were playing for penalties or 1 counter attack break. 10 minutes into the second half they had lost all pace on the counter so had to play for penalties. Their defence held out.

Yep. That's not great. Our goals came from the middle in Madrid, from shooting from afar...tonight we were out wide all the time. Kev should have won it. We hit the bar. Phil was horrible. I mean that's the worst I've seen him play. We let them off the hook completely. We took haaland off which was a mistake. He occupies the space, and we lost all attacking momentum when Alvarez (who has been bad for weeks) came on.

Love the team, love the fight, but we gave this one away completely.

Penalties, shit happens. It shouldn't have got that far.

I refuse to slate the team like many on here seem to do after they have given everything. I don't care who you are, you're always going to get nights where it just doesn't quite happen. But I agree we could do with a plan B. That said, it confirms how good we are when even mighty Real have to play that way. I Just wish we had gone out in the 90 minutes if we were going to go out, so at least we would have been fresher for the weekend.

The one I want this season is the title. I still hate UEFA so I'm not that arsed, and all we'll get from the rest is "Yeah, we won it twice; we won it 4 times" etc. etc. but NOBODY has ever done 4 league titles in a row.
