Lewis miserable. City looked so good last 25 minutes if the first half. I don’t know what Pep’s thing with Rico is, but it needs to stop soon. Positive to take was the triple-pivot worked. Khusanov could well have been thrown in instead of Lewis. Erling, Josko and Stonesy were all great though.
 
Yet another Kovacic appearance where we instantly go to shit. He needs to leave. Sick of it.

Rico is only good as a stopgap cog vs lower tier teams. Playing him at this level is madness. No pace, no height. He’s getting murdered in these games. Akanji was hanging in by a thread. Both are subs at best.

Some subs were bad luck but we lost control when we moved Stones. He was having a hell of a game.

Ederson was woeful in that second half.

Pep needs to be ruthless with 3 or 4 lads. Urgently.

You could see real moved up to snatch those balls at 80 mins. We played right into their hands.

On a positive note we looked good going forwards in spells and stones was great. back 4 is cursed, was playing well until Ake went.
 
Hurts losing in the last minute. The game went better than I thought it would tbh, there were some positives. Haaland bloody immense, but gutted for Jack and no matter what you want to say about Akanji he’s put a bloody shift in this season and I don’t want him out for long.

Thought Rico made some decent tackles and without him we’d have been in more trouble. So I’m not going to pile on him.

Stupid mistakes over and over and over. It’s a season to suffer, like Pep said. Just going to try to enjoy the football where I can and back the lads.

Kova should not be playing that ball to Rico ffs and Rico should clear it!
Ederson has killed us in about 3 UCL seasons prior this shit is ridiculous.
 
All in all, a much better result than expected. Nobody is deluded enough to think we are anything but awful, this could have been really ugly but we managed to only lose with 1.
With that said, its of course still sad to see us throw away what could have been a good result, but thats what we can expect from this team. Better to just go out right away instead of wasting time in a tournament we have zero chance of winning when we have important league games every week the rest of the season.
