Real Madrid post match thread

We did better than I expected.
Shame Grealish got injured. Great ball in leading to the goal and he looked good.

Savinho is decent defensively, tries hard and is good running with the ball. But there’s no end product. I really hope he can improve that.

Kev was constantly chasing down courtois. He’s 34 and can’t run, having him do that job and keeping him on for that long seemed strange. He looked knackered after 40 minutes.

Kovacic is limited as a player. I don’t rate him. He was next to brahim for there second, but he was asleep to the danger and let him get a run on him and get a tap in.

We won’t overturn result. Not with this squad and not at the Bernabeau.
I hope Pep tries something different and gives Khusanov, Marmoush and Nico (if he’s fit) a start.
Let’s just get top 4 then consign this season to the annals of history.

"Fanny wipe" top Blue posters incoming to tell us how entitled we are for being annoyed at giving up a 2-1 lead to a 2-3 defeat in the last 10 minutes.
Hey remember Alan Ball -yadda-yadda-yadda- we've come a long way.

2-1 up with 10 to go and losing when not really looking like we were under any real pressure needs calling out no matter what happened in and since 1995.

A lot deeper than Rodri

Not really.

He would have helped us play much better.

Of course, some players are over the hill and Pep makes some strange decisions. But even with these aging players we would have looked much better with Rodri than now.

Rodri's the system. I think some haven't understood how good he was the last two seasons. Better player than KDB, David, etc.

We have to be the most unprofessional team in world football at the moment. United, Sporting, Brentford, Juventus, Brighton, PSG, Feyenoord, Arsenal, Madrid. That’s 26 second half goals conceded in just 9 games since the start of November, 7 of which games we were winning at some point, and 15 of which goals came in the last 15 minutes.
That tonight, given what happened against United and Feyenoord in particular, was absolutely shameful. Leading with 6 minutes left? Two banks of four, make it difficult, but no, there we are again with the defence shoved up on halfway and quick opposition forwards looking to run in behind.
I have no words for Ederson on either goal. He cost us the game. A showy horizontal volley goal kick carries a far greater risk than an up and under, so why fucking do it? And then the third, out on the edge of his area making himself piss easy to lob, when he should have started back-pedalling as soon as Rico Lewis was, predictably, worsted in the challenge for a bouncing ball. And Ruben Dias, stranded out on the right flank trying to win a header he was never going to make and didn’t need to make. Cretins.
The individual gaffes this season have beggared belief, but the lack of organisation and professionalism has been far worse.
I’m not going to dig Rico Lewis out, because he actually played reasonably well after coming on, but the substitution itself, reeked of recklessness, cos you know at some stage he will fail to make a crucial challenge and the ball will end up in our net. QED.
