Real Madrid post match thread

think it turned when Kova gave away that free kick for no reason when we clearly had the ball and ready to launch an attack, jsut before the subs were made. absolutely no need, we had fk possession.

All you whingers crying about not winning the glittering pots this year, just reflect: in the first 115 years of our history we won trophies in 8 of them. 107 fucking years with nothing.

So shut the fuck up, change your panties, get behind the team on Saturday. City's future is incredibly bright. And stop disrespecting the great players of our recent past.
We are not that club anymore, we are an elite club who expect to be competing for trophies every season.

Huge mistakes have been made in the last two seasons in terms of recruitment, that's on the club, they have acknowledge their errors.

Our future is bright but our loyalty and lack of ruthlessness has come back to bite, never accept not winning, when you do our club will go back to be an also ran.

While I don't disagree with Ballymagash, I agree with this too. City have conditioned us over the last decade or so to expect great things so it's only natural for blues to vent when the team don't live up to their own exacting standards.

The saddest part is our kun will be walking tilted on one side only due to disbalanced weight and mystery of gravitational pull

Let’s face it most of us were not expecting a win tonight but it’s still gutting to not come away with a draw after going ahead twice. In the end, the sheer quality of Madrid against a keystone cop defence there was only going to be one winner.

I was happy with the draw after 87 minutes. It was a fair reflection.

Assuming none of their injured players are ready by next week. We actually can beat these guys.

Khuza... Stones... Dias.... Gvardiol
............Gonzo..... Bernardo
..Savio....Foden ... Doku......
........... Haaland..........

Lets actually go attack them. Their fullbacks don't get that much help from midfield. I want Foden, Savio and Doku attacking these guys 1 v 1 early.

Madrid might be the least cohesive team outside of us left in the CL.

They don't press well, don't help on defense much either. We are really playing into their hands by slowing things down. :(

We had a rough start but then after the Haaland goal I thought we looked very good for a change - largely kept the ball and looked like City of old.

But then injuries to Grealish and Akanji, plus the inability for Ake to play for the full 90 saw the introduction of Kovacic (I like Kovacic as a squad player - but he can't adequately help control the mid against top sides) and Lewis (not yet ready for the P/L) and the all-too-predictable collapse.

We're in the midst of a badly needed rebuild. Next season we'll be better.

Agreed, this game is not over.

I could see the second leh been another goal fest, neither side can defend.

Man, I'm absolutely fuming about this match. FFS, that fool Guardiola really pissed me off bringing on Rico Lewis l - what the hell is he thinking? We’ve got that strong Uzbek kid, and yet he doesn’t play him? And Nico? Why did we even sign him, is he injured or what? Foden? Apart from one decent shot and a lucky penalty, he did absolutely nothing. Zero creativity in the team, and we’re just relying on defenders to try and play it out in the final third like it’s a joke.

The moment Lewis came on, I knew it was going to be trouble. The guy can’t defend, can’t attack, and he’s way too soft. At least Akanji has some physicality about him, but of course, he’s injured now as well. I’m so done with this shit. Watched the replay today, and it’s completely ruined my day. That goal we conceded is fully deserved. Ederson gifting the ball away again an absolute embarrassment. And Lewis? Don’t even get me started on him. He’s a walking disaster, worse than a liability. Honestly, what was Pep thinking when he brought him on? Makes you question about him.

As long as we continue to play 2,3,5 in possession we will lose to these mad arses. You think we are good enough to attack them and defend their transitions? They created twice the chances we did yesterday. We are no longer capable of strangling teams through possession and control of the football.

Deeply frustrating to end like we did. Would have been a nice confidence builder winning that game to at least have something to protect in the 2nd leg. Was always going to be a tough 2 legger but gifting goals away again is a bit of gut wrencher really.
These mistakes/lack of concentration moments or fatigue or whatever the excuses are, are quite worrying. We've gone from a team that has hardly put a foot wrong for 5 years to a team that can't do relatively simple basic things under pressure, and I think that's where most of our frustration is with the team. It's the same mistakes and the same injuries almost every week! It's actually insane!! Is it just bad luck? Or a conditioning thing? Over training? Over playing? Playing with niggles? Old tired legs? Or all of the above!?? Injuries have fucked us as we just can't get a solid spine to the team.
If we cut out these mistakes then we can still salvage the season....unlikely I know but
that's what I'm telling myself!
Anyway onwards and upwards and get ready for some more grief in work from the plastic reds!
