Would Nedum Onouha get on United's or Chelsea's bench?

If the answer is no which is my answer then why is he good enough to be involved on ours?

The fact that Sunderland wouldn't spend £6m on him speaks volumes, if a team like Sunderland won't spend £6m on him then again how does he expect to get in our squad.

This is purely a footballing opinion, if it was his off the field stuff he would not be here right now.
We turned Sunderland down when they offered £6m for him. He is a lot better than some of the squad players that have won PL winners medals with Chelsea and Utd.
Read the old post properly and you will get a less biased view of his playing ability than you will get now his Mum has contact the press. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=184809

Honestly, there's no point wasting your time. The mob have ruled and know jack sh*t as per usual. But, that will never seep into their minuscule brains as they continue to shake their fists and froth at their mouths.

They already think they have all the answers.

4 more days for Dave to come back!! I would rather listen to his musings than this lot's!!

Oh PLEASE let those days speed by...

Oh sh*t, here we go again!! How many of you slagging Neds off are the ones that didn't rate Mancini as a manager?? Or Richards, wanting The Arse to take him off us?? Or, let's see... Dzeko based on half a season?

No Blue sh*ts on a Blue, but what are you lot doing, by irony??

Really, who gives a flying fook whether 'it's a no from me' as you don't run the rule over the players. If Mancini says he's in, that's all that should concern you. I don't like the self centred version of Tévez, but I know he can play within the system cos he's proved it. All I can do is shrug my shoulders and say 'well done' when he decides to play for the team.

If Neds gets on the pitch and does well/ contributes to the team win, then all you can do is say 'well done' too.

Well it's not all that concerns me unlike yourself i have my own views on issues as does everyone else here besides you, apparently. Since this is a forum we are entitled to give it wether you give a shit or not, dont reply or read the thread. Don't like it ? tough. You have your view and i accept it but don't go around trying to belittle others.

If he does well, thats great as it helps the team i won't boo him or do anything detrimental like that, same as Tevez ill cheer as it is for the good of the club. That still doesn't negate any views we have on an individual player.

For the record i always rated Dzeko and always said give him a full season with the club before making judgements. I always liked Mancini also as i saw his "negative" football as something he HAD to do to get his foot in the door considering the pressure he was under to deliver with a new team.

and i guess you come into the category that because he is a blue he is better than he really is.

Nedum Onouha is an average premier league defender, if you had read my post you will have seen it was all based on footballing opinion. Do you believe he would get on United's and Chelsea's bench?

and as for the record i was huge defenders on Mancini and Dzeko.

all true :)

I feel sorry for Ned being put in this position. I hope he is focused and competes for one of the defenders positions. Good luck to him

5th choice right back and 5th choice centre back in all probability.

But if we're going to be paying his wages, then he may as well be in the squad and available to play should we have an injury crisis.

Nothing better than an homegrown lad making it all the way but unfortunately - this lad isn't good enough.

Would we buy him if he were up for sale?

I guess Ned was just added in because there are still spaces in the squad, not because he's back in the first team.

Makes Lescott look like Silva on the ball.
Personally I think he's "just" better than Lescott. Lescott is better in the air, Onouha is better with his feet and quicker. Dont you remember the wonder goal he scored for Sunderland? Can you imagine Lescott doing that?
I understand the bad feeling from the damage he has caused to the club but IMO he is under rated as a player.

It was hardly a wonder goal, a good goal yes.

Playing at RB allowed him that, as losing the ball as a RB to a CB is totally different, Ned was a player with potential, but as far as im concerned he hasnt maximised it.

Before he moved to Sunderland there wasnt that much difference between him and Micah, Now they're worlds apart.

I am guessing that Mancini only included him in the 25 because he was impressed with his attitude in training, he isn't normally one to let bygones be bygones. So if that is the reason, that's fine with me. Good on the manager.

As for now, timing is all important, if the squad had been announced after the email was released to the press, I doubt he would have got a sniff, and quite rightly so. All this nonsense about feeling sorry for the position he is in. Forget it's his mother, she was acting as his agent and that is his responsibility, in the same way whatever Cook has done is the club's responsibility.

So he may be in the squad, but I doubt he will get anywhere near the actual team now. Pity, he isn't a bad player.

I'd say its more down to the fact he's English and Home Grown, Champs League requires a certain amount to.

Wasn't home grown covered already? Not sure, but I think so ....

It's pretty obvious Mancini doesnt allow bygones be bygones.

Bang on.

If we had loaned him to Everton there would be loads saying he didn't get a chance.

Fair enough :)

This is the reason to trust the manager, it's his opinion that counts and so far I think he's done a pretty good job!

In terms of Ned I personally don't rate him but my opinion is irrelevant as I'm just a fan. Whilst we tend to think emotionally about the club & players the management make logical decisions based on their knowledge and experience, we don't have that to the extent they do. I base my judgement of what I have seen of him playing, and the fact he was made available for transfer at what I would imagine to be an attractive price to any club interested - no takers and certainly none of the 'bigger' clubs.

The whole Soccer AM & email business hasn't endeared him to me, and the fact I think he's an average Priemiership player. If he plays for us again then I will support him , just as I supported Alan Ball although it killed me to do so.

Yeah Hughes, Mancini, Sven all know less about football than you
Sven and Hughes liked him. He was capt of the u21s for a long time. The main person who didnt like him was Mancini, as I said above because he had one bad game against Spurs. Dont let the bad blood created by his outspoken remarks on soccer am and his Mum's meddling distort the fact that he was a good player.

I dont remember him playing much under Sven at all to be honest apart from the mazy run at West Ham, even then he came on as a sub. Hughes was forced into playing him due to injuries and a chronic loss of form by Richards and as soon as the season was over he brought 2 central defenders in, thats how highly he rated Onouha. Mancini obviously just doesnt rate him but as we conceded 18 goals last season and kept more clean sheets than anyone i would have to agree with Mancini on all things defense wise. If he is in the team so be it, will never boo a player but i dont have to like him

For the record though without the injuries i think Onouha could of been class which makes it a shame

He can get stuffed as far as I'm concerned. Never want to see him in a City shirt again. Flapped his gums on Soccer AM, and here he is now (along with his mother) damaging the club I support with his petty quest for 'revenge'. Leave him to rot
