In the late 1990s Mercury Rev's Deserter's Songs stands out, not my kind of music but still think it was excellent and stands up to this day.

That's in my top 10 ever. A tragically beautiful record.

Without reeling off the obvious classics, Everything ever written the new Idlewild album is well worth a listen.

Marquee Moon – Television

Strange Times – The Chameleons

Kick out the Jams – MC5

The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground

Red Thread – Keith

The Thin Thread – Victorian Dad

Dandelions – King of the Slums

It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back – Public Enemy

The best album ever produced is The Queen is Dead by The Smiths but there's little point in recommending it because you will already have it, unless of course you're a total and utter ****.

Watusi by The Wedding Present, Stripmine by James and The Good Will Out by Embrace are all frightfully spiffing.
