In the late 1990s Mercury Rev's Deserter's Songs stands out, not my kind of music but still think it was excellent and stands up to this day.

That's in my top 10 ever. A tragically beautiful record.

The best album ever produced is The Queen is Dead by The Smiths but there's little point in recommending it because you will already have it, unless of course you're a total and utter ****.

Watusi by The Wedding Present, Stripmine by James and The Good Will Out by Embrace are all frightfully spiffing.
