About a young girl growing up in Cambodia during the murderous Khmer Rouge regime. You won't be able to put it down.

Sounds to heavy that mate.

-- Sun Sep 16, 2012 4:55 pm --

great fun with some mad stories

Motley Crew one sounds good fun.

A bird came down the walk:
He did not know I saw;
He bit an angle-worm in halves
And ate the fellow, raw.

And then he drank a dew
From a convenient grass,
And then hopped sidewise to the wall
To let a beetle pass.

He glanced with rapid eyes
That hurried all abroad,--
They looked like frightened beads, I thought;
He stirred his velvet head

Like one in danger; cautious,
I offered him a crumb,
And he unrolled his feathers
And rowed him softer home

Than oars divide the ocean,
Too silver for a seam,
Or butterflies, off banks of noon,
Leap, splashless, as they swim.

Emily Dickinson

Well if you would like the Motley Crue one, look at Kiedis' autobiography too, he's led a mental life too, think it's called Scar Tissue, Buzzer.

Kiedis was a great read.
Other recent ones I can bring to mind are
Bill Bryson - Thunderbolt Kid is a great laugh, but so are most
Bomber Boys about the men who flew in Bomber Command in WWII
McArthys Bar, funny travel book about Ireland
Flags of our Fathers was good

Toture Taxi... expose of the CIA's extraordinary rendition flights.

Enemy Coast Ahead... Guy Gibson writing about the development of Bomber Command

It is even Ozzy Osbourne makes an appearance, the thing they got up to with woman,drink and drugs is an eye opener, i dont even like their music but they had some lifestyle

By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept by Elizabeth Smart.

If anyone gets the chance to read this, do it. It's beautiful work and extremely hard going. A personal favourite.

Once upon a time there was a woman who was just like all women. And she married a man who was just like all men. And they had some children who were just like all children. And it rained all day.
