Man City will never be better than us, until they win the title using home grown players, and buying players from money earned at the gate, not from what's been handed to them on a plate.
de Gea? Nope
Ferdinand? Nope
Smalling? Nope
Jones? Nope
Evra? Nope
Carrick? Nope
Scholes? Yes.
Nani? Nope.
Park? Nope.
Giggs? Yes.
Rooney? Nope.

So two home grown players out of eleven means they have challenged with, ahem, home grown players.

Nice one.
United's 1992-93 FA Premiership squad:
Smeichel? Nope
Blackmore? Nope
Bruce? Nope
Irwin? Nope
Pallister? Nope
Ince? Nope
Butt (one substitute appearance, wouldn't have got a medal)? Yes
Ferguson? Yes
Giggs? Yes
Ince? Nope
Kanchelskis? Nope
Phelan? Nope
Robson? Nope
Sharp? Nope
Webb? Nope
Cantona? Nope
Dublin? Nope
Hughes? Nope
McClaire? Nope
Wallace? Nope

3/20 were from their youth! One wont have got a medal.

That's right United's great youth policy at its best and not a single player bought there, they didn't buy that title, no, no way! No way did the Edwards family lend money to buy them players, no way did United float on the stock exchange to earn more money to buy more players and win more trophies, no, no way did that happen, none of it!

Yes i find that jealousy and resentment the most staggering of all. A plastic club like Chelsea, who despite spending millions upon millions, can only come up with a boot it up to the big man, everybody behind the ball tactic to win.

Yet Barcelona who like us emphasise local youth, play attacking football, and have earned their success the hard way, are viewed by some pathetic so called football fans on here as cunts who need to be taken down a peg or too by the likes of Chelsea, just to make these pathetic fans feel better about themselves because Barca have beaten us in the CL final!

Truly staggering, but unfortunately a sign of the times and an insight into the petty mentality of the modern fan im afraid. They are not fans of football, they are fans of having bragging right
Biggest load of shit I have ever read. Manchester United focus on local youth? or just buying every other cunts youth players and claiming theyre their own products? and Barcelona who are funded mostly from banks and unfair tv revenue ahhh fuck off.

that comment has put a question into my head regarding FFP....

SURELY to be completely fair, the 'basic' % of tv revenue distributed among clubs in say, La Liga, Serie A, Eredivisie and Bundesliga should be exactly the same, otherwise it can't be seen as a level playing field? i.e. as in the Premier League 20 teams = 5% each?

I know the bigger/more popular teams will get more for the amount of games televised live but the bas amonut should be the same, in Spain, Real and Barca share 50% of the basic deal with the other 50% split between the other clubs.

Off topis for this thread I know, apologies...

Seems a reasonable bloke. Very very very VERY rare to see that from a Rag!

The others have clearly never researched or been taught about United's (and Newton Heath's) history. John Henry Davis and James W Gibson. Two men who threw money at them to save them from going bust and ploughing money into the club to make them successful. Davis moved them out of NH, built them a huge shiny new stadium, changed their name and kits, bought them a whole new team, and won an FA Cup and two league titles as a result. Buying success? Oh fucking too right it was! Gibson spent fortunes saving them from going under and his money went further as he ploughed money into a youth academy on a level that had never been seen before; something that saw the Busby team develop fifteen to twenty years later.

Right now City under Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan are doing a mixture of both of Davis' and Gibson's work (Academy still in planning stages and will not come into fruition for another fifteen to twenty years itself!) yet these uneducated cunts think it's a disgrace that shouldn't be congratulated? Pull the other one you fucking graceless wankers!

I've not even mentioned the propaganda of the Munich plane crash, how they flung people out on the streets, how they had an owner who tried to cause mass genocide by contaminating school dinners across the country, or how the team who hadn't won a league title for over a quarter of a century built the most expensive team ever seen in English football at the time to win it again...

That club fucking stinks to high heaven, but what's worse is their fucking clueless fans who follow them! I've got more class under my finger nail or left behind in my arse crack after a shit than 99% of their whole fanbase has in their whole body, yet they talk us down for being a classless outfit who are buying succes that means nothing?! Fuck off you Rag cunts, go and wear our old kits that were in the bin as your first team kit and play in front of 11000 week-in-week-out whilst picking on easy targets to give a beating to yet go fucking conveniently missing when numbers are even and it's men against men! Twenty thousand empty streets; the city is ours!

Well done sir

and i'm sure pallister was at the time. these cunts have been smashing records for years!!!

Yes, Gary 'donkey' Pallister's fee was a national record for a defender at the time.

And in case people have forgooten, the team that lost 1-5 at Maine Road 23/9/89 cost over £13 million. That was a hell of a lot of money for a football team back then.

And the scum fans only have themselves to blame for their current predicament.

They were the ones who drove the racehorse owners out following the spat with taggart over the ownership rights of that horse (forgotten its name).

Someone did a football inflation rate thing on here the other week. £13m would easily be about £130m in today's money, probably much more!
