We are in the group of death they are playing against a bunch of average teams...they should be doing better. and really are they? not by much.

The stupid pricks don't realise that we have won the premier league tonight.
We'll send a youth team to get knocked out of the Europa while they toil to qualify from the easiest Champs League group in the history of the competition.
I hear Phil Duncan Edwards Stam Buchan Jones was superb tonight. Along with Lionel Zinerdane Cleverly, England's future is secured.

Never works like that, tho. The momentum of winning games is the key in all comps. That's why so many teams end up doing the double, treble etc...

There won't be any people employed by City celebrating going out of the CL tonight or in 2 weeks. It's not good for team morale, the status and ambition of the club, or the financial rewards of staying in the competition. A bad day at the office :(

Scored a sublime goal

I've no issue with United fans gloating about us losing in general - that's the nature of local rivalry - but they might have been better waiting until they were definitely through and we were definitely out. They still need a point in Switzerland and that might not be as easy as they think, considering they've hardly ripped up any trees in the competition thus far. It's an unlikely scenario but we could still end up progressing while they don't.

I'll also add that despite being the best team in England at the time, United themselves struggled to get to grips with the Champions League for the first couple of seasons, not even making the group stages in 1993 when they were knocked out on away goals by Galatasaray.

We lose a game, look like going out of our first season in champs league and the op goes on a united forum to see what they think about it?
Odd.
i find it very strange, its like one of them ringing us after the 6-1 for a chat. they can gloat all they want, fact of the matter is they are shitting it even more that we'll be taking their precious title away.

Don't they still need a result at Basle to avoid the Europa league ?

Yes and, even if they do, it's highly unlikely they'll win the group as Benfica are clearly going to beat Galati at home. That means a second round match with someone like Barca, Madrid, Bayern etc.

bearing in mind the rags' almost unerring ability to get drawn against the weakest side left in any cup competition (crawley last season, otelul galati, aldershot & palace this season, etc, etc) if this scenario comes to pass we all know they'll be drawn against apoel nicosia - providing apoel stay top of their group.
