Ref for Southampton.

It was the difference in his implementation of the advantage rule for both sides that really did my head in yesterday.

I could understand the Fernandinho one not being given as I don't think he moved his hand towards it, but if it was given I don't think we could complain too much.
A bit surprised they didn't show these on MOTD last night. We would have had cause to complain because Fernandinho had his arm as close to his body as he could have. His lower arm was actually across his stomach and he never appeared to use his upper arm to control the ball. Handball has to be deliberate (although that definition has been expanded to mean that you must be seen to be doing whatever you can to avoid it) and Fern's wasn't. Davis, on the other hand, moved his arm towards the ball deliberately as you said and should have been sent off plus we should have had a penalty.

A mate of mine who is a ref was at a referee's evening recently with Taylor and Kevin Friend. A question was asked about their playing days. Neither played in fact Friend admitted he only played rugby as a kid. We are dealing with people who have never even kicked a ball, some who aren't even into football. It's scary stuff.

Fat Phil has expanded this to cover the ball hitting yer knee!! And Jonny Moss with his lino even gives a pen when it hits nowt but thin air!

He made some awful decisions both ways. It's natural to concentrate on the ones that went against your team. For me he was just incredibly inconsistent and the big decisions he had to make he got very wrong. The penalty and subsequent red card for City was the worse of the two decisions for me as Davis moved his hand towards the ball. I could understand the Fernandinho one not being given as I don't think he moved his hand towards it, but if it was given I don't think we could complain too much.

I would agree, of the two Penalty decisions Davis handball was Arm to ball & a definite Pen, whereas Fernandinho at worst left his hand there but actually looked like he was pulling his arm out of the way, both probably should/could have been given.

I just thought it was funny how Koeman thought he was biased towards us, when most on here thought the opposite. I think he is just a poor ref who was very inconsistent, which is probably the worst kind of ref you could get.

Shit house ref fucking amateur performance by him. Inconsistency all over the place especially the advantage given to Southampton which led to their goal.
