Ref for Southampton.

Said it on the way back to the car, absolutely Appauling performance from East .
To be fare he was poor for both teams and some of the decisions were baffling to say the least.

Lots of bollocks being talked about the ref tonight, like after every game.

They are not bent, they are not biased, they are the best at the job that we have. It's a fast moving game in the PL and at time they will get decisions wrong. Get over it, they are not the only people on the pitch to get decisions wrong. Almost every player on the pitch will do so in every game.

They (the refs) are assessed at each game, what kind of assessment do you think they want? Do you think they want to be seen as a good ref, or a bad ref? Just think about it.

If in doubt read a few refereeing autobiographies.

Oh by the way, I am not and have never been a ref.

You ok Roger? Shit game today btw

This wasn't Sunday morning at Hough End. East is supposed to be one of the leading refs in the Premier League, part of the so-called Elite Group, a highly paid professional. Of course all referees make mistakes; we expect that and understand it to a great degree. But for a ref at that level to:
  1. Miss a handball that virtually everyone else in the ground saw.
  2. Make an utter balls up of playing advantage at least three times.
  3. Fail to notice blatant fouls, such as a two-handed push on Aguero, Toure being pulled back and Sagna being shunted over the touchline without a challenge for the ball. Because I was sat in 109 and saw them all.

Only excuse i could have for him is the weather .

He might not be bent but he was terrible. There was an incident in the first half where he played the advantage for City for about 2 seconds before City gave the ball away - he didn't bring the play back. The one in the second half when Yaya was being fouled from the half way line to about 25 yards out - Yaya eventually got his shot off and it trickled to the keeper. Why didn't he bring this back? It's decisions like that which annoy fans the most, just be consistent.

I don't think he was biased, just awful

We're not talking about anything other than todays referee and todays game, do not try and make it out like I have said things I clearly haven't.

To say he is bias and cheating like you said, is to suggest his performance today is different from any other game. It's not. He along with the majority of refs are incompetent almost every game. He was terrible but he wasn't cheating.

Roger Easts incompetence today was staggering. His decision making was awful - he looked out of his depth and had no idea about how to play the advantage rule. I know all refs have bad games and get criticism but that performance today was the worst all round performance I've seen from a ref since Rob Stiles plied his trade.
