Then the powers that be need to reavaluate how games are reffed because at this present moment we've got more poor ones than good. I agree that the game has become faster, players fitter and cheats more plentiful but that just adds to the argument that we need to do more to help them.This is correct. I don't think people understand the refs aren't on a birds eye view they're eye level amongst players moving very quickly. I listened to Poll once who said a fair percentage of decisions are made on what they've heard rather than seen, as the game is just too fast to catch everything by sight.
I think people will only ever appreciate how hard it is if we had a few games where a ref used a go pro. Then every single fan of e wry single club who believe their own club is a constant victim will see it's simply just refs being human - and making mistakes.
I'd love to see that experiment get done.
I don't think any of them are out to get us, I just think they're mostly inadequate and too many games are being decided by their decisions.
