Ref for Utd (h) - Sunday

Next time we get clatters will be a difficult away game, can't see Riley and cronies putting him on gods own for quite some time, as for Oliver he's a rabbit in the headlights

Given that when a goal is scored there is a natural break in play why can't video technology be used as in rugby to check that everything is ok to award a goal. Likewise if the is a penalty call it won't take long for a fourth official to check the monitor and either say yes or no. The ref can then halt play and bring back the play. If after watching the penalty decision from a coupe of angles the 4th official still can't call it conclusively then no penalty awarded.

I don't want the 4th official making a decision other than whether something is clearly on one side of a line. The ref has an opinion, the linesman has an opinion on what he sees, I don't want a 3rd opinion included, especially one with the endless replays which can be misleading or not help at all. Many fouls and handballs are a judgement of the ref, and video footage won't help with most of them.

I'm also not convinced that the TV footage would be forthcoming all the time!

I am not talking about every foul I am talking about goals and penalty claims. So for instance the goal we scored against Neverton would have been chalked off and a goal kick awarded whereas it wouldn't have taken more than five seconds for a 4th official to say it was a penalty when Stones wiped out Raheem

Free range for both teams to kick the crap out of each other. More likely means that Sergio and David will have sore shins come Sunday evening.

The man has the potential to be a decent ref but is an utter coward which lets him down.

They don't need egging on.

Those two, yes, I agree were fairly clear.

An awful lot of penalty claims are down to the observer, and aren't as clear cut

You'll have to put a bit more meat on that rather confusing bone. What are you on about?
His reward for fucking us over is another big match he can influence. Oliver and Twattenberg do as there told and the rags are back in CL mix.
