The foul stats are half the story. What isn't included are the fouls the refs just wave away. Keira gave away a pen yesterday at the women's game. Soon as the 'tackle' went in, despite howls of "Don't foul her!' from the stand, the ref pointed to the spot. Pretty much identical to the foul on Sterling. Fouls inside the area, outside the area, yellow cards for foul play are awarded on an entirely different basis to us as opposed to the teams we are playing and to our 'rivals'. It's as clear as night and day!You could probably add on about 10 clear fouls that Leeds got away with to that too!
Mind you, it was an identical foul to the one on Gordon in the Murkyside derby that was totally ignored. Perhaps a barge in the back has slid off the radar at this end of the season.
I've just watched the extended highlights and I don't know whether to label Tierney's judgement of the pen on Sterling as a tackle as 'scandalous' or 'sinister'!
