Ref Watch

Dive? No. The game has evolved. Players will go down if they feel a touch, players play for it. The problem is we don’t get the free kicks we should get. There is a huge amount of unconscious levelling up by the refs, we have a much higher bar when it comes to the refs. Do you think we’d be given that pen on Weds?
The problem is that the game has evolved to that point....

For Salah see Grealish for instance....goes over at the slightest touch

Now compare Haaland to Aguero - would he have gone down - early Aguero certainly wouldnt have done. - he would have gone through on goal and got the shot at goal - that is what Haaland should be doing....

You can ONLY rely on yourself - never ever leave it up to others (ie the ref in this case) to decide the outcome.....our fans and players need to learn this.

We were given the pen on Wednesday - it was correctly ruled out by VAR as Haaland was offside...

Its not abut ref'd differently - its about what is right...I said other players do it from other teams and we moan about it (you have just shown this as well) - neither is a foul and should not be given as so ever

All on Pep and his continued use of Bernardo Silva at left back and as you said our inability to finish (plus our midfield again being quite poor (KDB esp)
The Salah one was given, as in the opposite decision, as in DIFFRERENTLY.

Are you talking about the Haaland one?

Reason being is it wasnt a foul....he should have stayed on his feet and gone through on goal...Nothing like a foul and really bad from him.....a sligh touch on the shoulder doesnt make someones legs give way...we call opposition players for diving and we need to have the same standards for our own

It was embarrassing Haaland went down for that. Not even enough for a free. Haaland was expecting more contact and knew it was a last man challenge. He was in such a good position to score though.

I suspect Foden was offside when he delayed playing Haaland in. He was better today than he has been recently but fluffing that chance was infuriating. His preference was to shoot himself or he was delaying until the last second to play Haaland in but the pass was on long before he attempted it. He then miscontrolled the ball which left him with the only option of squaring it.

We had big chances we didn't take. Changes should have been made in advance of them scoring. Gundo began to look leggy. For their goal, Laporte and Rodri were breezed past like they weren't there. I near always have Laporte in my first 11 but if we're going 3 at the back, nobody deserves to unhinge Ake on the left of centre. He has been near faultless all season.

As I said neither should have been given...neither were fouls...not the one on Salah and not the one on Haaland.....

What is a foul is always subjective especially in terms of contact......games are ref'd differently as they are ref'd by human beings and not robots....people have different interpritations of the same event even simple ones. Haaland should have stayed on his feet and took control of the situation and then the refs interpritation is irrelevant.

I think Foden got caught in two minds what to do and did neither - I also think you are right I think he looked offside fromt he replay but hard to know definitively

Agree also on the changes that should have been made - if not on 60mins as soon as Wood came on...

On Pep today

After Kev snatched at his (about) 12th shot he should of come off.
His body language was a good indicator for the manager to see this

PlPost var there’s no room for apology. Margin of error shouldn’t be in our conversation .

We were awarded a penalty last night.
How does the Rodri handball (as one example of many) fit into the bent narrative?
Thing is, you don't need a conspiracy of shadowy figures sat around a smoke filled room pre-determining the decisions for each game. I'm fairly sure that the officials are reffing to the best of their ability. I am certain, however, that there is a great deal of unconscious bias against City, refs unconsciously want to 'even things up' against the perception that we are a goal scoring juganought crushing teams 5 and 6 nil. I am equally certain that the pigmol unofficially acknowledges and rewards such behaviour, further reinforcing the bias we see in every refereeing performance.

Do you have a source for Mason being responsible for six VAR mistakes? I can only find reference to two.

Not sure thats accurate. VAR admitted that the cameras didnt cover the entire pitch at Klanfield. This is a VAR Set up issue, not A TV companies issue/responsibility.

The official final word was that there was nothing wrong with the cameras. There was no blind spot. It was a case of the camera operator zooming in on the action in the penalty area when he should have held the wider view that included having the corner taker in shot.
