Ref Watch

Everyone's interpretation of what a foul is is different and that's the point. Winners take control and take the possibility of arbitrary decisions which are completely subjective out of the equation altogether.

If Haaland is through 1vs 1 with the keeper do you back him to score.....I know I do so you would think he should!
It’s a bloody good job the club is full of winners because that arbitrary subjectivity is stretched to the limit in our games. If it’d been Dias making use of his hands on wood then it’s a red all day long.

Haaland’s only mistake when he was impeded was falling to the floor. If he had simply stopped then the ref would have to take a different view.

The bias may or may not be there...but let's say it is......if Haaland stays on his feet they can't use the bias against us

Don’t think people understand that when running at any pace the slightest tug, push, pull etc will put you off balance. Whilst football is a contact sport what you can’t do is do what Forest did to Laporte and Haaland without recourse. And as I type this, Messi has just fallen over with as much contact as happened on Haaland. Result - free kick and yellow card. And from the free kick just outside the box Messi scores.
Anybody who can’t see we are reffed differently and have been for a few seasons is either a rag / dipper, blind or just stupid. The ref yesterday has done more championship games than PL, ask yourself why?

Remember that Mahrez non-penalty a few games ago, someone (can't remember who or what game for that matter, there are so many of them) tried in his foot and everyone was saying there wasn't enough contact. I'd like to see someone land his studs on a referee's foot when he is running full pelt and see how he stays on his feet. Of course it's going to affect the guy's running stride. Subjective my arse.

To be fair, it was a horrendous ‘error’ by Mason to ‘forget(!)’ to draw the lines. It’s not just a judgement error, it’s pure negligence on his part. If he can’t even get that right, he shouldn’t be anywhere near a football match. Definitely sack-worthy IMO.
One of the problems is that new officials have nowhere to learn their new trade. They are straight in at the deep end. I wouldn't be surprised if Mason just isn't very good at using technology.

But he didn’t as he was impeded by the hand of the defender.
Rubbish...he wasn't impeded..he felt contact and chose to go down...a slight hand on the shoulder doesn't stop anyone running let alone 6foot 5 behemoth who has the pace of a decent sprinter( amateur)

The VAR protocol doesn't help. If the ref gave us a FK it would have been a red card for the defender - VAR would then have to rule whether it was a foul or a dive. But if the ref gave Haaland a yellow for a dive, VAR wouldn't intervene as it wasn't a penalty decision or a red card decision.
