Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

Utter gash today, allowing their keeper to take the piss with every goal kick etc. Also noticed liner sticking up his flag despite KDB not being off whereas the other liner kept his flag down despite their guy being at least a yard off.

It’s absolutely by design I will not believe anything else, just too much of a coincidence compared to other games in applying the new laws/rules of the game..

I’m typing this slowly so that you understand !
The point is that to many of us the decisions are baffling if not biased ,
take the Haaland ‘hand ball’ at Spurs for example.
If they had to explain themselves after the game then they may be less
inclined to make the decision in the first place.
I was having a discussion separate from that with the poster I replied to. It was around whether VAR should exist at all, I felt yesterday's incident was a good case for it no existing.
You could have simply followed the discussion trail to find that out for yourself, instead you decided you were in possession of all the facts and decided you would be a patronising prick.

Did I imagine that dangerous tackle by Anderson on Foden yesterday?
TNT commentator and pundits mentioned it and pundits thought it was a red.
BBC commentator mentioned it in passing but no discussion later.
See whether it's mentioned by Dismal Dermott tomorrow.

Which pundits thought it was a red? I can’t remember any of them saying that?

One thing is clear. It was a foul and the ref was looking right at it. That I can’t forgive

Andy Townsend said it wasn’t a foul as he touched the ball……

Not complaining about the result but how many poor decisions were made by the officials - ball deemed out of play when it wasn’t - in play when it wasn’t - missed deflections that turned corners into goal kicks and vice versa etc. the interesting thing for me, and I have noticed this a lot recently - we don’t see a replay when the decision is clearly wrong - and that includes some offside calls recently - wouldn’t have affected result necessarily but very dodgy -and yesterday a challenge on Savinho in the first minute that was ignored but was every bit as bad as, if not worse than one 20 mins later that earned a yellow card Just saying !!!

Were you at the game, did you watch the games, or did you just wait for the highlights?

We all love to engage in City based conversation, just wonder where your starting base is, seeing as you keep confirming that you’ve seen/heard fuck all?

I thought he had his back to it.

Absolutely no excuse for VAR though. Had that been one of ours on a Forest player, I've no doubt the cunts in the TNT studio would have been straight on the blower to Stockley Park baying for them to take action.

I didn’t go to the game. Watched it on TNT. And unless my memory fails me, which wouldn’t be a first to be fair, all the pundits said it wasn’t a red.

And ther in lies the problem. The threshold for a red card offence is an opinion. What gets given as a red in in one game attracts a yellow in another, or sometimes even the same game. That's something VAR will not change.

The PL as a competition is not a level playing field.

Well that’s a different issue entirely. I was merely asking the guy who said the pundits said it was red, which ones they were?

But then some other guy ( might have been the same one actually, can’t be arsed checking ) said that I never see fuck all anyway.

No to worry.

Alistair Mann and Michael Brown on the City OS commentary were shocked that VAR didn't even look at it, and although it's the official club site, they are both fairly objective.

This was a rightly a red card for Leeds against us.
Got the ball, follow through hit our player.
I’m sure Stones got sent off for one against Villa too.

So how the hell was the one at weekend not at least a card.

1 minute 41 in.

It looked similar to the Bournemouth one last week. That was a red card. This one isn’t even a yellow. Weird. I can’t put my finger on why there might be such a disparity in punishments for two such similar incidents.
