Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

He never looks relaxed, or even smiles.
Just looks like he's concentrating on his pre match instructions

twatwell has consistently been a cnut ever since I first thought, "what a cnut this cnut is" back in 2011 against Wolves.
The thing that sticks with me about that Wolves game was that in the first half we weren’t awarded a single free kick until the 45th minute when Kompany was shielding the ball out of play near the corner flag for a goal kick and he was pushed in the back. Instead of just allowing a goal kick he made us take a free kick about 2 yards from the corner flag. He larer sent Kompany off and awarded a penalty for as I recall a nothing sort of challenge. Overall one of my five most poorly refereed games.

Thanks for reminding me of that game; I was fucking fuming.

I pointed out in the match thread that he was 'inconsistent' today. Booking Nunez for daring to take 15 seconds for a throw-in, yet allowing their keeper at least 30 seconds to take a goal kick in the first half. And the amount of fouls he let Semenya get away with without a booking was scandalous considering he booked McAtee for his first foul.

How we ended up with four YC's to their three is beyond me considering we had over two thirds of the possession.

I wonder what the odds were for that?

Just before booking Nunes for taking 15 secs he allowed them to take ages to get everyone in the box as he launched the throw in. Perfectly reasonable in my opinion to allow a team to do that, but also perfectly reasonable when a team is defending a 1 goal lead to try & ensure they’ve got bodies to in position to maintain possession from a throw in in your own half.

Twatwell let them kick fuck out of us and foul us all over the park. Barges (Bernie, Nunes x 2) and blatent two handed shoves in the back (Gundogan) not given yet books Khusanov for an accidental trip of a player he didn't even see behind him and McAtee for his first innocuous challenge as well as awarding free kicks against us for challenges he let them get away with. It was fucking glaringly obvious.
Since that sack of shit at Old Trafford I've been of the opinion he can get fucked and I'm surprised we tolerated having the **** ref us ever again after that utter contemptible bollox.

I'm certain that the decision at the Swamp came from off the pitch.

Nothing unexpected by Twatwell.
An awful, weak ref, intimidated by the home crowd in a tight stadium.
Booked us for the slightest of fouls, swayed by the crowd appealing and let them get away with numerous cards.
Us losing inc a penalty decision = 1 minute added on 1st half.
Us winning with very few stoppages= 7 minutes added on 2nd half.
As i said, we all knew what we would be getting with him

Was he the ref at united? If so a decision that involved a linesman and VAR can't fall on his toes. He was shite yesterday though

Would just be good if they explained where the 7 minutes came from.
I know it’s not an exact science but, there were 10 substitutions, 2 goals and Nunes was booked for ‘time-wasting’ so, maybe, 7 minutes was right.
IF it was, then next time those things align, it should be 7 minutes.
Trouble is, it won’t be..

Unless we are a goal ahead.

I’ve said before, it’s about time their watch was connected to the scoreboard so we could all see every game what was being added on and what for. At least then the consistency, or lack of it, would be open

Quite right. And, if you still want the referee to control it, he can tell the time keeper when to stop the clock, same as the egg chasers have managed for years….
