Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

Twatwell, is and always will be a cnut.

I am baffled as to how officials and pundits can say that Haaland is running away from goal?

The ball is played over the top and is heading to the goal area.

But, anyway, still doesn't mask a rather disjointed performance.

Onwards and upwards.
It only travelled away from the goal because that's where Henderson swatted it

I am not one who believes that all referees are out to get us. Lots of them make blunders. But it was Atwell who overfuled his linesman to allow the goal by Fernandez at the Old Trafford Derby in 2023 after Rashford had shielded the ball while blatantly offside for at least 20 yards and then impeded Ederson. I was in the stadium and am certain it was a dishonest decision. I had a good view of it and so did thousands of people. The reaction from the crowd, including United fans, said it all. That decison on Saturday was another dishonest one. I have been watching football live for almost 60 years and have only seen a handful of obvously bent decisons. I don't believe for one moment that Atwell is merely incompetent. How did someone who is a laughing stock with rival fans across the country get the FA Cup Final gig for starters?
He got the gig because he does his master's bidding. He might be a laughing stock with fans, but he's favoured by PGMOL and the FA because he does what they tell him to do. He doesn't do stupid things like give controversial decisions against establishment clubs (United, Liverpool etc.)

He should be nowhere near the PL. He shouldn't be doing the cup final when it's contested by one of the teams he has cheated in the past.

Because of the antiquated tradition that a referee only does one FA Cup Final, in normal times.

There was a time when there was a huge pool of football league referees, who shared the games around.

Now we have a small pool of ‘elite’ referees who do the vast majority of Premier League games. And amongst them, a tiny pool of two or three who do 90% of the ‘big games’

I think it’s time for the best referee each season to do the Cup Final, no matter how many he’s done before.

There's certainly a bad smell around Atwell and I am sure Pep knows more than we do which may explain his outburst against Dean Henderson (who is blameless in my book). I will never forget what happened at Old Trafford.

I have said this for years. The ref who is top of the assessment league should get the final irrespective of if they reffed the last 10 years. The pool of refs available to ref this game was down to about 4 given the current rules. And next year we will be down to even fewer.

Gonna throw another spanner into the works. I've looked at our missed penalty upteen times. Their goalkeeper moves both feet in front of the goal line before Mamoush hits the ball. That penalty should have been retaken. But obviously if the media don't highlight it the incident just melts away.

I don't think he does. I think he times his movement perfectly, to be fair.

The law says this: "When the ball is kicked, the defending goalkeeper must have at least part of one foot touching, in line with, or behind, the goal line."

Henderson did his job. It's not his fault the officials didn't do theirs, and send him off.

And where exactly would the world find out if we kicked up a stink? Everything is in the hands of the media.
There's only one way to find out.
If we continue to say nothing, the only certainty is we'll just continue to get fucked over time and time again by Red Howard and his PGMOL cronies.

As I have said it before, these refs and their mates “make it up as they go along” to suit other clubs and screw us!!! The problem is we ( most successful team in the last 5- 10 years) let them get away with it! Both on/ off the pitch. We need to to be nasty at least as much as our opponents!!!!!

Thanks, I know that’s what actually happens I really wanted to know what the protocols say should happen!
All the officials are in constant communication it’s like a commentary check out the odd audio they released reg fuck up Spurs v LFC from last season If VAR spots an issue they will speak to the ref they will ask him what he saw the game is then stopped for a review to prevent any substantial happening during the review

I wasn’t even aware of the handball until today. I don’t even remember Haaland or anybody else appealing for it. Everyone round me seemed to think they were checking for a possible penalty for Palace.

Aside from that, the one thing that’s started increasingly annoying me is the way every time a player heads the ball, they hit the deck and play stops for a possible head injury.

I don’t even particularly blame the referees. Just a general observation.
Absolutely it’s time that if the game is stop for any player staying down they have to leave FoP for 2 minutes if it’s a head impact then they should be examined by the doctor Result it stops

Attwell has to be the worse ref in the premier league like a rabbit caught in the heads he just frozen on the hand ball decision VAR dug him out of a massive hole just another corrupt official

I don’t blame Atwell for it, there’s no way from his position he can see if it’s outside the box or not. The linesman would have been much better placed to see it.

VAR didn’t dig him out of anything either, they just made themselves look incompetent.

That penalty should have been retaken. But obviously if the media don't highlight it the incident just melts away. The commentary on ITV was appalling yesterday, turned to BBC 2nd half. The fans who attended Wembley must have come home not knowing a thing about the Palace keeper.
This is where the whole system stinks. You pay hundreds to attend a final, you know fuck all of what is going on with decisions. There are huge screens at each end of Wembley with loud speakers, but none of it used to inform any fans what the fuck is going on. This is where the system stinks, why are discissions hidden from paying supporters. Major discissions need to be shown and reasons for discissions explained to the paying supporters.
Fans watching from home must be nearly smashing their telly's listening to what cunts like Lee Dixon think of an incident and we're expected to sit in our chairs and just accept it.
Football in England and Europe need to get their act together, fans everywhere are fuckin sick of being treated like monkey's. Would those discissions yesterday gone against the rags or dippers ? Not a fuckin chance and the media would have been in uproar.
Fans up and down the country need to demand fully explained discissions from refs and var by on field devices and explain how any discission was reached.
At last someone else Said it at the time and a few times on here his feet were in front of the line and it should have been retaken IIRC VAR is checking for this and encroachment

We lost against to an quite average team because we couldn't muster enough pressure or momentum to get the ball in the onion bag simple as that really. We cant keep harping on about refs. Plenty of time to equalise we just didn't have the class.
This is what fucks me off about this thread.
It is about referees performance not ours.
It doesn't matter if we win by four or get turned over by four if the **** officiating fucks up it gets called out.

So stick your "our fault for losing shit" in the post match thread and leave this for calling out the fucking appalling refereeing.

Lineman was McCann ass VAR yesterday and on Palace’s book as a youth

We don’t have any elite referees, not one

Or blatant cheats

Those of us that went to the game yesterday have a right to expect even handed and professional interpretation and application of the rules. It should be a given. If Attwell didn’t see the handball was outside the box then that’s human error and we can be annoyed but we have to accept that he didn’t see it. The images that VAR were given, clearly show a handball outside the box and the keeper preventing Haaland making an attempt on goal. The decision to not apply the rules correctly here should be investigated. It undermines the whole credibility of the sport and those involved need to take responsibility and explain their decision. It’s either a) gross incompetence or b) something far more sinister. How can a multi million sport and the showpiece Cup Final be ruined by amateurs and their pathetic excuses.
