Just out of curiosity, who are the thugs we could/would bring on to retaliate?

We probably don't have any at present but someone like McLean. I remember him coming on at West Brom away and just kicking anything that moved. Get someone of that ilk on when the game is won and let him clatter the clogger's on the other side. If he gets sent off no loss as he will never make the starting line up anyway.

We could get a hard man in who could play a bit too but we all know refs view us differently and ours would be sent off pretty sharpish so that wouldn't work.

Certainly wouldn't, because by that logic he'd be suspended for over half the season! ;-)

Lomg overdue, posted the below in the comments, expecting some die hard far flung Rags to post abuse later

About time this was highlighted coherently in the press. Can’t recall if we’ve seen a straight red card challenge since the furore over Mane and Ederson- Have refs become scared to send somebody off against City in case the overtly anti City pundits start questioning their competence? Why do some refs namely Madeley, Mason, Roger East& Anthony Taylor always seem to have poor games when officiating us ? Why are refs allowed to regulate their own inefficiencies? Are we too blinkered in England to think about the potential influence of global betting markets and to quote Mark Clattenberg ‘game management’

Refs are professionals now and as a result they should be made to answer questions after the game like managers do. Why should we have to watch shit performances like Mason at Cardiff when one of our key players is put on crutches and he just waltzes off scott free into the sunset?

Not necessarily McLean manages it fairly well. I originally said we need a couple of these players so if one gets suspended another is on the bench.

I've said it before we need to become less nice. The Phillips assault on diaz led to the bench all springing up in disgust, family in the touchline there his hands up and aguero went to the ref.

We need to highlight how bad they are, get 5/6/7 players round the c*nt who did the assault, get in his face. Let the ref know how bad we think it is. Cause a scene.

I genuinely think the fact we appeal properly makes the ref think it's not that bad.

We can't get round the ref because we'd get booked or sent off so get into the player

It was so bad even on Gilette Soccer Special, Jeff Sterling and the others jumped into the back of their chairs wincing in shock at the tackle when they looked at it

I'll take the advantage, the goal and a yellow card rather than stop the play for a free-kick to show a red card.

He can still show the red card but just chose not to. He should have booked the **** 10 minutes earlier for a challenge on KDB but forgot who'd committed it conveniently by the time the ball went dead. Guys a fucking cheating **** and in the 3 games we've had him this season has deliberately tried to fuck us over.

Easily solved get two.

Maybe, but if he started crocking players and then celebrated with the fans, then surely they'd have to send him off.

If anyone had taken McClean, Philips or Madley our it would have got a bigger celebration than any of the goals.

Can someone please send that compilation of dangerous tackles that I saw here last night (i can't seem to find it now) to MOTD and in particular to DANNY MURPHY who has incited violence against our players with his comments about what Swanlea players ought to have done to our players.

Please also send it to SKY and in particular to MARTIN TYLER who has encouraged this heinous behaviour towards our players and has encouraged refs to ignore the violence with his hysterical response to the red card for Mane for the near decapitation of Enderson. Hysteria seems to be his default state whenever he is commentating on our matches. So Mane scoring against us was payback for his red card!?! WTF? It's about time someone challenged these idiots on our TVs.
