I've just realised that this business of when liners should/do put their flags up is another aspect of football l do not understand.

This is another PL directive I believe. Bewildering that they can ask refs to officiate differently to the rest of the world.

Yes but the refs were the ones who stood firmly against refs checking the screen when var was first introduced. The FA in each country should be the arbiters if the rules
