Farage is like Churchill a tad dodgy but both won us our freedom and deserve statues sainthood and the gratitude of the nation.

Outside of JFK I can't think of a more iconic politician since WWII

Ffs
This weekend in the place he calls home and where he pays tax ...... Brussells - no surget in Clacton he hasn't even got an office there - how is that even allowed?

Man of the people for the people yeah right

down with this sort of thing ......... says man who is part of this sort of thing

I think he does pay tax on it but, as it gets paid to the limited company he set up and is the sole director of, he only pays 25% corporation tax, not the rates of income tax applicable to the hoi polloi.
He’ll still need to pay incremental tax on the dividend (assuming he pays himself one out of the profits).

The net level of tax he’ll pay will be broadly similar, save for a marginal saving on NI.

But only on ‘profits’. No doubt he’ll be claiming a huge amount of costs to offset any profit. Also I’d assume he pays himself a salary, with a huge pension contribution..
Suffice to say, he’s not quite the man of the people he purports to be!

Made me laugh anyway

He posted a public relations video of himself in Clacton last week, just to prove his commitment to the town. He visited a brewery, and had the obligatory shot of himself, pint in hand, to prove his 'man of the people' status.

I can't think of any other MP that has had to release a video showing themselves rejoicing about actually visiting their constituency.

He could have released a video showing him opening his new constituency office which he could have stated he would unfailingly be in attendance at every Friday to hear the concerns of the locals he represents, but he's not interested in that. It's too much like work, and that's not how he operates. He'll take his MP's salary to help keep his precious Coutts bank account alive, and the status of that will always mean more to him while he sips his preferred glass of red wine while entertaining billionaires in Belgravia at a birthday bash of his, than having to mix it with the smelly oiks of Clacton.

Farage will schmooze all day with like minded free market capitalists, and take the proverbial piss out of those he pretends to represent.

I get all this, but it was getting tedious the ‘he’s never at Clacton! ‘ was obvious he’d rub it in when he was. Easy goal for him and his moronic fanbase.
