Farage, like Trump, is exclusively after the low information voters. His voters won't have heard of the Barnett formula, nor will they care enough to educate themselves. They like the general vibe of what Farage stands for, blame foreigners and easy solutions once we stop the scroungers getting in.

But when he does stray into policy detail it does motivate the anti populist vote. So hopefully he keeps on talking.

I assumed that he isn't talking to the Scots at all. It'll get a bunch of coverage for saying something controversial.

Reform only got about 170k votes in all of Scotland at the election.

He knows that Reform’s got no traction at all in Scotland but banging on about Jocks getting more will appeal to his core support in England.

Their first mistake is to put it on Reform-headed paper.

Any request or instruction of this kind should come from the Chief Executive, Leader of the Council or relevant Executive Member and be written on official council stationery. That is basic procedure.

I don't think that is a fair interpretation. Polling suggests Reform were going to give the SNP a run for their money in Hamilton and consequently Farage has been up there for two days trying bang the drum. He got asked the question and he just gave an honest answer, one that will do him no favours in the by-election .Credit where credit is due.
 
Do you know anyone that supports Reform? Family, friends, neighbours? I do...many old friends, one family member and generally talking to people in the area. They actually do believe Farage "will do something about immigrants".
They really do believe the country is in "a mess because of Starmer".
Mis-info works because many people choose to be ignorant.

Is it not a valid question though given it's status as a symbol of the religious oppression of women? I don't understand the scoffing at attacking oppression as though the better thing to do in the 21st century is to tolerate it.

It is already banned in the extreme far-right countries such as France, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, certain buildings in Norway, certain buildings in Sweden etc....

2 mates I've known for 35+ years and 45+ years. Part of a circle of friends, many of whom have known each other since primary school. We've been going on holidays since 1990 and 6 of us were in Majorca back in April. One of the two is as thick as pig shit and will swallow any populist soundbite. The other is a bit more intelligent in that regard but he's found himself going down the far-right rabbit hole, probably influenced by whatever social media is throwing at him. He couldn't even admit to who he voted for on General Election day last year but eventually said he'd voted Reform. The other one claimed he never even voted but I'm not buying that one bit. Both have done pretty well for themselves. They each own multiple houses that they rent out in addition to their full-time day jobs and neither are affected by immigration - illegal or otherwise - from what I can see but they're both quick to blame anything and everything on immigrants, particularly those coming over in small boats.

My sister was the worst.. "Something should be done about all the immigrants coming over and raping our women and children". "5 Star Hotels while "our people" are homeless".
It's all the usual buzzwords. When I point out the REAL facts, she just replied, "well, we'll have to agree to disagree".
They won't look at facts. They're CHOOSING ignorance.
