Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

I see there has been no mention in the right wing press over the last few days about Farage's property empire. They are wetting themselves over Rayner's 3 properties, 1 of which is a Grace and Favour, yet Farage has 4.

Might be because she is a government housing minister.

Just a thought.

Pretty sure one of the main reasons we're unable to 'send them back' is partly due to Brexit and loss of EU agreements and being in the EU legal system, which the grifter was front and centre of.

But still, the core of his support will see him as having some kind of answer to things he's been stoking the fire about.
Technically - yes, but in reality - not really.

There is a common misunderstanding (deliberate lies perhaps) about how the Dublin Agreement worked.

I can remember the days when lorries went through screening at the ports in southern England, with all manner of technology available to detect people inside the vehicles, and those that were found were returned to France.

If you remember, it was installed to prevent drivers from being prosecuted for bringing aliens illegally into the UK without their knowledge. There had been numerous cases of lorry drivers and caravanners appearing in court prior to that for breaching the rules without them being complicit.

There were numerous interviews with asylum seekers saying they had been detected four or five times in Dover and returned to France after they had been discovered.

It was a tried and tested system that worked well under the terms of the Dublin Agreement in those days, so I'm not sure why you think it wasn't effective?

That’s a fair point – the Dublin Reg. was often misunderstood in terms of what it actually allowed. My point was more that Brexit removed even the limited legal framework we did have for transfers, however under-used or imperfect it might have been.

You’re right though – even when the UK was part of it, the numbers of returns were very low compared to arrivals, so it wasn’t some magic fix. I suppose the real issue is that we’ve ended up with fewer tools on the table, while the political rhetoric still makes it sound like there’s an easy answer.

In their seven decade career the Rolling Stones have toured the US 15 times.

In the year since being elected as an MP Nigel Farage has been there ten times.

For the feckless who will vote for him, not turning up to work and being paid for it is the ultimate goal. It's wild how often we celebrate and reward bone idle fuck wits

I did read it, and your response was it wasn't effective.

I don't have the figures to hand but there were nowhere near the numbers coming over like they are today.

I was merely making the point that, unlike today, with people arriving in small boats and being allowed to enter the country, when they tried entering in the back of lorries back then, if they were found, as many were, they were returned to France.

We now accept them when they are clearly visible.

Years ago they used to hide and if they were discovered, returned.

Something has changed, and it's the loss of the Dublin Agreement. A brexit bonus with unforeseen consequences.

When we were in the EU, we couldn't be arsed to enforce some of the powers available. For example, any EU national not self-supporting - that is, with a job, private income or pension - could be asked to leave after three months. It was never enforced as it was too much work.

It's almost as if successive British governments were utterly shit at governing a modern state.

And please don't say Reform would be better. That would be like City getting rid of the entire first-team squad and replacing them with the squad from Abbey Hey or Prestwich Heys, complete with management team. (Except the people running those teams are not grifters and con merchants.)

Abbey Hey might have put up a better second half at Brighton.
