Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

I will only be proud of my country again when the NHS works properly again and people in normal jobs can afford to buy a house or rent one at a sensible rent. When schools are no longer run by Gradgrind cunts, and are properly funded and back under democratic control, not controlled by shysters and religious fruitloops. When you can walk up to a railway station and buy a ticket to London at the sort of price such a journey would cost in Europe.

I could go on, but I know for a fact that the flagshaggers, bigots and tinpot Mussolinies of Reform will never achieve one grain of this, and more importantly, have no wish to do so.

The chances of them gaining power are as remote as seeing the railways putting on a decent service for a reasonable price. Let's just see how Labour do with the hot potato to gauge just how fucked we are?

We are royally fucked. Principally due to 14 years of gross incompetence by the Tories, a government run by and for shysters.

I don't believe Labour will address anything on my list. They might, just, make the NHS slightly better. But you see, they're not promising miracles.

Reform, with its all-things-to-all-men approach and absurd, simplistic solutions, are just a bunch of con artists. They know very well - or else are incredibly stupid - that their sums don't add up and their 'answers' won't work.

It's high time the people of this country grew up, and stopped expecting magic pixies to make everything lovely again.

.....you could go on, and say who you think, would achieve anything you have mentioned? If you think ANY party will, you're a bigger 'fruitloop' than any of them. All politicians are in it for themselves.

I made a point, in a later post, of saying that I didn't think Labour will do much. Lib Dems might do a bit better, but they will never be in power anyway.

The reason these things can't be achieved are: 1) The big two parties have a different agenda, 2) The voters won't vote for the necessary tax increases as they are in denial. Instead, they want magic solutions that will, in reality, either achieve nothing or (more probably) make things worse. Brexit was the ultimate example of this way of thinking. Putting immigration to zero - without a careful plan to achieve this over several years and at considerable cost - please note that last bit - will merely severely damage the economy and smash what is left of public services.

Until people wake to reality, matters will just get worse and worse. These things I mentioned are all achievable. All it needs is planning, money and determination. It's only what other countries have in the West, it's not as if I'm asking for a gold-plated Rolls Royce for every person, or for the state pension to be 1k a week, or for everyone to be so happy that they go off to work skipping and singing.

in that street in Leigh the background is not dominated by mosques and everyone in the back ground is white.
The woman has been fed this bullshit for years, sometimes on mainstream tv unchallenged and most definately in the papers, which is probably hwr 2 main forms of news

It is a sad state that our nation has become so unbalanced journalistically.

Facebook (and twitter) algorithms are the root of much of this stupidity. If you looked at a post with someone blathering on about immigration and how awful it is, there’d be another very similar post in the feed and, before you know it, you’re getting sent post after post (or link after link in FB) which just reiterates what you might now be starting to believe it’s true.
Sadly, bad actors seem to be much more savvy with this stuff and seem to use it best.
Perhaps it is most effective on people who use a single source for their truth. This was undoubtedly key to the leave vote winning, because they understood that truth from the beginning.

Oh aye facebook especially, I remember people I know turning into conspiracy theory cranks during the pandemic all from FB pages targeting them, also a lot of US ideologies have influenced our political comentray through fb and twitter

The point I had was, a failed tory crank like farage would have been ignored and ridiculed pre 24hr news channels and his poisionous rhetoric nothing more than a buzzing sound in your ear, both our main news outlets gave him constant coverage, probably to fill air time nd added him on main debates and panels long before he could gain support, all media print, video and social shifted more alt/far right as an acceptable stand point

15+ yrs of Sky news and bbc platforming farage and other cranks once only heard in the corner of a boozer arguing with thenselves have fucked this nation up royally.

Haven't watched the extended version but in the original one, the woman repeated a version of the baseless 'Great Replacement' conspiracy theory, according to which Muslim women are having more children who will eventually take over here and impose Shariah law on the rest of us when they grow up. The term 'Great Replacement' was originally coined by the French scholar Renaud Camus in 2011. The British author Bat Ye'or also published a book called Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis in 2005 which argued that Muslims are deliberately working to replace white Europeans through immigration and high birthrates in order to broaden the territory of a putative Caliphate.

Unfortunately, I haven't got all day and so will have to make this brief, but in actuality Muslim women born in European countries are doing precisely what demographers predict, namely, having fewer children. Fertility rates for Muslim women born in Europe are declining quickly and heading toward rates for non-Muslims.

For example, a Pew Research Forum study projects that that the percentage of Muslims in Europe will grow from 6 percent in 2010 to 8 percent in 2030. The countries with the highest concentrations of Muslims will be France and Belgium, each with just over 10 percent. So we are far from the false demographic projections that are sometimes cited to provoke panic. For more on this and some additional statistics, see this little book:

Moving on, the ‘creeping Shariah law’ claim dates back to some misreported comments made by the previous Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams. Shariah law, in fact, has no traction in UK law. None whatsoever. Those Shariah courts that do exist are designed to help mediate between and counsel those who might, for example, be thinking of divorcing or getting one. But any decisions made are advisory and not binding in English law.

Additionally, although Islamists (like affiliates of the now proscribed organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir) and Salafi-Jihadists (like ISIS) favour a Caliphate and the introduction of a harsh version of Shariah, and Islamism is a problem in the UK (if you read the publications of former Islamists Ed Husain and Maajid Nawaz), their views are not representative of all Muslims. Surveys with carefully calibrated questions in fact reveal that many (if not most) Muslims favour democracy, and that most are culturally conservative but politically liberal. For a review of the data which shows this, see especially, Charles Kurzman's The Missing Martyrs: Why There Are So Few Muslim Terrorists. There is a section in it in which the author specifically addresses the advocacy of Shariah among Muslims that some surveys claim to have uncovered. It turns out that it's not that simple and a lot depends on how the questions in the survey are framed. However, the relevant passage is too long for me to type out.

Will leave it there. Hope this post helps in some way. For more on Shariah, John Esposito & Natana J DeLong Bas's Shariah: What Everyone Needs To Know is excellent on this aspect of Islam. Also have high hopes that this publication will also prove to be illuminating when it arrives (just ordered it today):

Your brief synopsis is normally a days worth of reading anyway ;-)

Same rhetoric abuot Irish Catholics and West Indians, Indains and Pakistanis in the 50s/60s

They have shed loads of kids, ruining our culture with their religions and behaviour etc etc etc

"Platforming"?

Would people rather have an echo chamber? On second thoughts don't answer that :)
2010 general election whhere farage started getting very minor attention, returned a hung parliament the first green candidate win a seat , first alliance MP in NI, the 3 main parties then with opposite ideologies and the vote was split across all 3, hardly echo chamber politics

UKIP had been around since 1992 and not until after 2010 did they get and notice bar being the fringe cranks alongside the monster raving looney party and communists etc.

So yes the **** was platformed post 2010, and cameron shit himself because of it and fucked the country up with forced referendom which we have seen has left us weaker and more divided.
