Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

This will go spectacularly wrong.

These solar farms need planning consent.* First rule of planning committee: you must must not have predetermined the application. Planning officers will probably recommend approval. Any Reform councillors on the committee will have to declare that they stood on a platform of opposing such applications therefore (a) "I will not participate in the discussion or vote" or (b) "Despite anything I or my party may have said I come to this decision with an open mind". If (b) councillors vote to refuse, they must provide specific planning reasons for their decision. Either way, the applicant bangs in the appeal, and wins, with the Planning Inspector awarding costs against the council for unreasonable behaviour. If Tice is right, the Council will then seek a judicial review, which the court will refuse. If the Tice doctrine is to take that to appeal (despite the council getting counsel's opinion that it's highly unlikely to succeed) then the taxpayers could be stumping up a quarter of a million pounds on costs.

* If under 50MW, otherwise it's a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project so local councils are bypassed.

You're more concerned with people who aren't in power than those that are. Are you happy with Starmer's first 9 months in power?, because I'm not and the majority in the country certainly aren't. Silence in here regarding the shit show that is Starmer and his government but the bogeyman is Farage!
What shit show?
Stock market’s up. Inflation’s down (apart from the last month). Wages are up. Record deportations of illegals. Trade deals with the US, India and the EU. Ok he’s not solved the boat thing yet but does that really affect you?

What do you want? A vote until the country makes the correct decision according to you. It's like the SNP constantly whining about the vote they lost.
It's our politicians that have messed up this country, labour and conservative, not your fall guy, Farage.
No it's too late for that. Just some acknowledgement from some who moan about where we are now, taking just a bit of a look at themselves and being big enough to admit that they are actually partly responsible for voting to make themselves worse off. But I suppose self reflection doesn't come easy nowadays.

If you can't see that and still support the likes of Farage, Tice and co, who already sold you the lies on Brexit then you deserve everything you get in the future.

You may not like much of what Labour have done, but it took 14 years to destroy the economy, it will take a damn sight more than 14 months to get it back on track. But I'll bet a £ to a penny that you personally are no worse off directly because of any of their policies.

Heard Zia Yusef lying through his fucking teeth about the amount of money that can be ‘saved’ from cutting DEI expenditure.

I’d be amazed if the figure is even a tenth of what he claimed, the lying fucking ****.
Apparently they'll save £300-400bn. When asked how, guess what the first thing that came to mind was-yep, those pesky illegals! After that, it was taxing EVs. Oh, and QANGOs, none of which he could actually name. £300bn my Royle Family arse.

1/ migration
2/ LBGTQ+
two things that in my 63 years that have existed and I have never had any negative experiences with

His tactic is great - interrupt, talk over, respond to a question with an answer to a question you have not been asked.

Just as an aside Yusuf said early this year he would publish Reform UK's deportation strategy by May. Probably got educated on the legals so don't worry you didn't miss it - it doesn't exist. One of the main planks of their manifesto and they have no plan.

Exactly… spot on… Farage is smoke and mirrors… don’t look over there look over here… look over here…. Don’t look over there… look over here…. Keep looking over here….

Good point.
Even the trans debate has largely been resolved, although that’s down to the Supreme Court rather than the government. However if the last lot were in power they’d be taking credit.

Every fool thinks they could save lots of money on public services.

The reality is public services have been cut to the bone and the only way to make significant savings (i.e. cut taxes for ordinary people to the point they would notice a difference) is to stop doing some stuff.

For example, abolish the NHS and make everyone take out insurance. A massive saving for billionaires, but for you and me? Do me a favour!

Abolish all benefits, including the state pension. That would be popular! And it would increase acquisitive crime by a huge percentage.

Go neutral and abolish the armed forces. (Can't see the gammons buying that, or indeed anyone with a grain of sense.)

Probably just me…or not… but I think most Reform voters are angry United supporting (loosely on the supporting btw ie don’t go to games, buy a knockoff shirt to the supermarket on a Sunday etc) muppets who just want to go back to the days of when they won something… hope they (united) get relegated next season and Reform get shown for what they are… spendthrift sheisters who don’t know their arm from their elbow….

A lot of people are angry, and frightened.

Why? Because they are encouraged to be by a malign press and internet. Because twats like Murdoch long since figured there are sales (and votes) to be gained by making people angry and frightened.

It's very hard to counter, because when you explain reality to people you come over as patronising, hostile or 'a leftie'. People are not that interested in facts these days, in part because the media is not fact-based but is in the business of stirring primitive emotion.

Personally I’m absolutely more concerned about Reform and their polling numbers than I am the party in power. It’s already having a significant impact on the political debate.

We’re still in the “had enough of experts” stage and I’m not sure when we’re going to get out of it, if ever.

I'm fairly happy with the Labour government so far.
Made some mistakes, but have introduced some very good policies and trying to fix. 14 years of self servatives corruption and ineptitude is going to take time.
Thankfully we will have at least ten year of Labour to try and get things sorted.

Once again, Farage subverting the country by catering to the hatred’s that he and his ilk create in order to control those who are brainwashed into it.

And, can you blame people for falling for their lies? Everywhere you look, mis and disinformation, tailored to play on people’s prejudices. The fact that the lies are so blatantly populist doesn’t seem to matter to most, and that really is the worrying part.

I was going to type out a large response as to why Nigel Farage and Reform are a bunch of cretins and beneath contempt, but I've opted not to engage with the brainwashed, from what I've seen from this thread, any discourse just leads to goalpost moving and whataboutery, so I'm not going to waste my time.

My compassion for the people who are duped into believing his schtick is because many are poor and have been drip fed a bunch of racist and self harming lies since the mid 00s. That is to say it only extends so far. I've seen Reform voters laughing at children drowning in the channel, and being generally racist. this is deplorable.

I remember the bilge coming from the National Front in the 1970's.

It's the same message, but with a different badge and tie colour.
