If you say so.The madness of organised religion
If you say so.The madness of organised religion
If you say so.
I'd like to congratulate the op on getting the discussion of his clearly made up story to run for six pages. Well done.
I believe him.In fairness he was probably hoping for a full out barney about Muslims when most appear to think he has made the whole thing up and are taking the piss
Try Pizza4u across the road,I can recommend their pizzas, even if the guy behind the counter is a slow fucker.I frequent pubs at the bottom of Cheetham Hill Rd and have eaten out of every kebab shop from the fort to the arena after a few pints. Never, never has this happened to me or any of my mates. I am in the Derby Brewery Arms now and after last orders I am going to go in each kebab shop until I find this non halal meat seller. I will report later.
they won't let you have it in Strangeways if your not a Muslim....Weird, normally the Islamophobic rants about Halal meat are about the evil Muslims sneaking it to our children in schools and the like without telling anyone it's Halal (and therefore likely to infect them with "Muslim"). Yet in this new twist on a classic, they are now not letting you have Halal meat?

It's a restaurant that meets the requirements of the Jewish dietary laws. So things like all the food will be kosher, they won't use anything that contains gelatine, serve shellfish or mix milk and meat. Even things like ensuring the fruit and veg are clean and don't contain any insects. This is going to sound ridiculous but what is a Jewish restaurant? I'm unsure I've even knowingly seen one before. I know all about halal and only tend to eat it when I'm out for curry or having a takeaway at the end of the night (as opposed to buying my meat from a halal butcher); but couldn't even begin to suggest where one might be. Stamford Hill?!
is that the 1 facing the Welcome pub? It's a restaurant that meets the requirements of the Jewish dietary laws. For observant Jews to be able to eat in them, they have to be under the supervision of the local religious authority, who constantly monitor that they're doing everything right. Stamford Hill, Golders Green, Edgware and Stanmore are the most likely areas you'd find one.
The food tends to look pretty much like the food you'd get in any typical Toby/Harvester type place, with one or two dishes you've probably never heard of. Here's the menu from one local restaurant to me: http://www.jsrestaurant.co.uk/images/JSmenu-New june2011.pdf
It's a meat restaurant and there's no dairy products used at all, so no cheese on your burger! Chicken Soup with a form of dumplings and vermicelli is one most people know. Gefilte fish, which is fried, minced fish is another. Tzimmus is a sort of sweet carrot stew, with dumplings and sometimes pieces of meat. Kugel is a potato loaf and latkes are like potato cakes or rosti.
I spent a month working in a kosher supermarket in Bondi beach years ago, and never learnt anything about it. Too busy in the walk-in fridge eating cheese and other goodies. It's a restaurant that meets the requirements of the Jewish dietary laws.
