Hey, I've no problem with city square because it's entirely voluntary. Sometimes it's quite a laugh watching some leopard skin trouser clad wannabe rock god screaming "Come on, let me hear you!!!" To that guy with the city badges and his dog on a wet Wednesday League cup night.Maybe not for you, but nobody is forced to watch, having up and coming bands playing at City Square works for a lot of people.
Its pretty well unique in England, and quite a few people who've been with me think its an excellent idea pre match.
The formula of City Square works very well for younger folk victor :)
I thought the op as talking about putting gigs on for fans in the stadium before the game, which is a ridiculous idea.
