Regular gigs before games

Maybe not for you, but nobody is forced to watch, having up and coming bands playing at City Square works for a lot of people.

Its pretty well unique in England, and quite a few people who've been with me think its an excellent idea pre match.

The formula of City Square works very well for younger folk victor :)
Hey, I've no problem with city square because it's entirely voluntary. Sometimes it's quite a laugh watching some leopard skin trouser clad wannabe rock god screaming "Come on, let me hear you!!!" To that guy with the city badges and his dog on a wet Wednesday League cup night.

I thought the op as talking about putting gigs on for fans in the stadium before the game, which is a ridiculous idea.

I like City Sq as it is. Some good new bands, ex - player / celeb fans interviews and some decent competitions. Keeps the kids amused while I queue for overpriced poor quality food and drink. And as I am representative of the middle aged, middle class fan the club wants to encore I am sure that my view is all that matters :-)

I would like to see a G&T bar and a hummus and crudités snack van but apart from that...

I like your thinking, BG.

I'd like to have a few shoe polishers doing their business for tips. Maybe a Cuban cigar shack which sells expensive port and perhaps live oysters would be nice, too.

Christ, I thought this was a thread about Rhodri's wife.......

Or maybe an Argentina bbq concession called Sergios or Zabs or a creche where I could leave the children or even somewhere where I could drop off my dry cleaning pre-match and collect it on 80 minutes.

75 minutes. You need to avoid the mass exodus.

with the proposed north stand ,i hope they can incorpreate a covered city square,it could be fantastic

Have an indoors city square perhaps like they have at European clubs like Schalke and Kaiserslautern.

The more covered areas, the better. The OP's idea is a good one save for the Mancunian weather.

You can send in requests via City voice. They promise to read every single one.
