Thank God the screaming that was associated with the last few transfer windows has stopped.

This Summer it was something like this........."Ten days to go and we still have not bought anyone!". "The end of the world is nigh. Marwood Out!"

From now on one addition per year should be enough to see us contend for trophies and usually that happens in the Summer

If that "one" addition is not a Sinclair, Javi Garcia, Rodwell or Maicon... then no.

If it was a RvP type of addition, I would agree. Unfortunately we spend a lot of money on players that don't improve the squad last summer (with the exception of Nasty).

Would say we're about three possibly four players away from a real world class squad that can challenge on all fronts.

World class Striker
AM/Winger
Deep lying playmaker
Young versatile defender to replace Toure when he leaves next summer.

If we can get our number 1 targets I really don't see us having to spend for the next couple of summers. And by that time hopefully our younger players like Ntcham, Saurez, Pozo etc will be breaking through.

This is what we should have done last summer but we cant do anything about it now I just hoped we have learned from our mistakes.

One thing to consider though before buying anybody next summer is how close are we to meeting the FFP rules that are being enacted for next season... At this point, we should be able to make the cut but it will most likely be very close. So until we know exactly where we stand on that issue, we should be wary of purchasing anybody or else we might not qualify for any European competitions.

we'll make our big signings in the summer.

nobody we want/need is available in jan.

Patience fellow blues, this summer is when our transfer plans will come to light.

The debacle of last summer will never be repeated and lessons have been learnt.

Txiki and Bobby have already allocated targets, discussions with these targets will be taking place but the moves will happen this June/July.

I think Garcia has shown enough to prove that he is a good buy, and I'm confident that Rodwell will too

We needed players who can step into the team when required so that we can compete for more than just the League. Those players will still be there next season when hopefully the Champions League starts again for us, and with maybe 1 World Class addition we'll be a lot stronger when all the players have some experience behind them.

A bit of a stretch to be fair or maybe you are just having a laugh.

I hope all our summer signings prove to be good long term.

With all due respect marvin,I don't want to "contend"......I want us to piss it...piss everything..not a pop by the way.

World class Striker - Falcao
AM/Winger - Reus/Isco
Deep lying playmaker - Benat
Young versatile defender - Hope rekik can step up.

sounds good to me. and should be made easier if we can trim the wage bill, which is what I assume Txiki and Sorriano will plan on in the summer.

Toure, RSC, Bridge contracts are expiring along with a few younger players, Balotelli and Dzeko possibly both sold I cant see the net spend being that high. Thewage bill should definitely decrease.

I would go with
Falcao
Gotze
????
Hummels

Assuming we're losing Balo, Lescott, Kolo, and maybe Tevez. No idea on the deeplying playmaker tbh. Gotze has the ability to be one of the worlds best, we'll worth the money

The number of incomings will be decided by the number of outgoings, top on the agenda in no order for the summer must be

Tevez and Kolo

maybe Dzeko and or Balotelli

I reckon Guidetti could be number 4 striker so if we do lose all three we will certainly need another striker and centre half. But all managers want 3 -5 players so I have no doubt while the transfer at the moment is relaxed I expect another fever pitch, bitching exercise come the summer oh deep joy.

Hummels will not sit the bench. Unless we intend on playing 3 at the back it makes no sense.
