I suspect there is a reason why Townsend was virtually never played by Pochettino and I doubt it reflects well on Townsend. To me he looks lightweight and doesn't work hard enough without the ball to be worth his occasional moments of talent with it.
Lascelles looked OK as a centrehalf though I suspect he may not be at the level we require.
