I said West Brom would be safe under big Sam. Turned out I was wrong. Unfortunate- as they’ve seemed to play quite well from games I’ve seen. He’s the man who will bring them back up next season.

I sincerely hope bfs is nowhere near my club next season.
However, with our appalling owner, inept board & permanent small time attitude, the only certainty will be the usual chaotic shit show.

ah. A baggie! Feel for you, relegation is an awful feeling , i know full well.
I really think Big Sam would get you promoted back to the Prem. he did it for us (West Ham) ok, via the playoffs. But he got rid of so much deadwood and bought in some real quality for the championship- I think a full season and he will do the job for you.
 
West Brom should stick by Allerdici for now. He will get you back up, the problem is the collection of players you current have.
 
The problem is the owner & his board. The players & managers are just symptoms of the real problem at my club & sadly nothing will change in the foreseeable future I’m afraid.

Watford have sacked the manager who started the season and got promoted automatically. Bournemouth did the same and got in to the playoffs. Alladyce's promotion via the playoffs doesn't look as impressive anymore.

You don't need to throw money at this student of Charles Reep to get promoted.


West Brom already have proven scorers at championship level in Grant and Robinson. No point sticking with Allardyce for him to gut the team of the more skillful footballers and leave you in the lurch when he decides he isn't really interested in managing a lower ranked PL side for long term. Better to go for someone with more knowledge of modern coaching and persist with it even if it results in Yoyoing like Norwich have done with Farke.
